Re: QMX / Antenna tuner disagreement
I have been out with the QMX many times and QMX SWR readings always agree with 4SQRP or ZM-2 reflected power indicators for various different antennas. Chris: ?Dummy load always has shown 1:1 SWR on

Re: QMX / Antenna tuner disagreement
Possibly the effects of CMC getting into the QMX, that the tuner was able to shield it from. The 1/4 vertical isn¡¯t going to have as much CMC as an OCFD, for example, but it is still an unbalanced

Re: QDX 10-20M Version - Soundcard Error
Thanks, Bernie. Yeppers, tried that and different cables too. No luck. I have been pointed to a service technician who may be able to figure it out. I may have gotten a chip too hot, or something. It

Re: QMX / Antenna tuner disagreement
Most likely case is measured SWR was not at the QMX working frequency. Reason for that is SWR bandwidth for a loaded vertical is narrow and depending on band very narrow. Since you didn't say what

Re: QMX / Antenna tuner disagreement
A few thoughts: What do you get with a dummy load? With T507 it is necessary to keep the secondary (thin wire) turns well away from the primary - most important for high bands. How did an SWR scan

QMX / Antenna tuner disagreement
Portable QMX outing: On first setting up my antenna (base loaded vertical with 4 radials), I got 1.3:1 SWR with a NanoVNA. On hooking up to QMX, it tripped SWR protection. Turning off SWR protection

Re: Wattmeter ideas?
Sorry Gary, I was meaning the hw device, maybe I am missing something but I didn't see it posted. Just curious what are you using. I see there are different QRP options, like the one Shirley and

QMX Transient Shutdown
I did a CW POTA activation yesterday. Found ?interesting glitch After a few QSOs, I got one call and when I called him, I had no power out, no ST, no receive, and no response to tuning knob.

Re: QMX Low Bands Rev1. RF filters bad on 40m & 60m and no Transmit on any band
Note:? Sometimes when a PA BS170 goes bad it puts PA voltage onto the IC503 and damages it.

Re: QDX finals modification, imbalanced heating
Good point! I was planning on a diode on L14 to suppress any TX end spike instead, as I added to my QDX 80-20 after blowing the BS170s. (No high SWR antenna there, either.) Peter Li wrote: Yes, I

Re: QMX Low Bands Rev1. RF filters bad on 40m & 60m and no Transmit on any band
An update for anyone interested: L507 inductor found to be faulty gone O/C would explain why weak reception on 40m & 60m, now need to locate a replacement. I still need to investigate why no transmit

Re: Wattmeter ideas?
I also built this QRPOmeter and it seems to work quite nicely. Fun build. Dean - KC9REN > > >

Re: QDX finals modification, imbalanced heating
Peter_Li, I just thought I'd share what my QDX heat sinks look like also. I found the heat sinks for the TO-92 case of the TN0110 MOSFETS were a bit loose and what I did was put three wraps of copper

Re: #qmx wrong inductances for LPF? #qmx
Two more information: 1. All tests were made with turns spread over the whole toroid. So inductivity is lower than with turns pushed together. 2. Ref. to manual page 40 L508 should get only 11 turns

Re: QCX mini became a little deaf after transmitting near a telescopic balcony antenna
Thank you, Ron. It was a very small hope because I understood that broken resistors due to electromagnetic interference is something very unusual. But anyway, this is a good reason to order a few

Re: #qmx wrong inductances for LPF? #qmx
According to the T30-17 data sheet tolerance for AL is +/- 5%. From my L measurement the tolerance seems to be at least +25 %. Any idea? Here are some attenuation values (all in dB, LP for 12/10

Hi Caleb, I built everything needed to connect the QLG2 to the QMX and it works great, it's easier to build than it might seem. I used a 2A power supply and a small 3A Step down to lower the voltage
