Re: #qmx+ Announcing new QMX+ 160-6m multimode transceiver kit
Hello Scott No, QMX+ is not intended to replace QSX. However the gap between QMX+ and QSX is not as wide as I'd like so probably QSK will have an increased specification. 73 Hans G0UPL

Re: #qmx+ Announcing new QMX+ 160-6m multimode transceiver kit
Great news! I noted the assembly instruction PDF is there, but the firmware/operating instruction link doesn't work. I'm curious to see some sample RF sweeps on this new offering! :-) -Nate N8BTR

QSX Replacement??
Hans, is the new QMX+ going to replace the long awaited QSX?? Or is the QSX still in development?? Thanks, Jim G.

Re: #qmx+ Announcing new QMX+ 160-6m multimode transceiver kit
Not to bring up a sore point, but I am wondering if the QMX+ is intended to replace the QSX. 73, Scott AK5SD

Re: QMX - Curious observation
Sounds like something with the BPF selection maybe? Or LPF? I wonder if you need to look at the diode and through-hole inductor solder joints? -Nate N8BTR

QMX - Curious observation
Hi, For a few days, using the QMX for reception only, it seemed very deaf.? Normally strong signals were barely detectable. Today I was monitoring 14MHz FT8 sub band and there were only a handful of

I got one after a long wait in line at FDIM. Also got the GPS and dev board. A priority for me would be an onboard tuner. -- 73 KD8CGH

Re: QLG1 battery
How much time are you looking to hold the data?? Maybe they're better now but early ones had poor leakage current and would self-discharge in a week or less.? Also I don't know what's in the module

Re: Old Timer Soldering Question
As the others have said, don¡¯t cheap out on the solder, use a decent iron and don¡¯t be afraid to use some additional flux. ?I typically use 0.5 - 0.7mm diameter as it¡¯s a bit more controllable

Re: QMX+
I just ordered a midband QMX and I'm not disappointed because I will have the QMX unbuilt, I'm disapointed that I'll have to pay shipment a 2nd time. I will build both. I know that the QMX+ is

Re: Old Timer Soldering Question
Like in the old days, soldering is all about the flux! Many inexpensive 60-40 solders and the newer (and not nearly as easy to use) lead free solders don¡¯t have enough flux in them. This is why the

Hello, I did also sent a QMX for repair and alignment to Jeffrey. He did a wonderful job and the QMX is now up to specs. Bought the QMX used and was very unhappy with the performance. Now the QMX is a

I would suspect that there are quite a few people disappointed after just having bought a QMX. I wonder how many unbuilt QMX kits will appear on Ebay? -- Phill EA5JHA

Re: QMX+
At 106 x 55 x 146mm it is a fair bit smaller than a K2 and not that much larger than a KX3 so still eminently portable. In volume it is a good deal smaller than an Icom IC-705. Sure not the deck of

Re: Old Timer Soldering Question
I find a really hot iron (3-400c) means you don't need to apply hest for long and the solder gets wicked through the layers nicely. So you need a decent iron that gets plenty hot. I use a fine chisel
