Re: QMX+ onboard microphone #QMXplus
The more complete short story, as I understand it: Because of early design decisions, the microphones connect directly to the microprocessor's ADC inputs. In most radios, there would be a microphone

QMX Receiving FT8 but No Change When Antenna Disconnected
Hi all, I¡¯ve completed assembly of my 60¨C15m QMX. It powers on and passes the RF and SWR sweep tests. Test ADC I/Q shows sine waves, particularly on 60m. I can hear what sounds like FT8 on 7.074

Re: RF Amp using the now cheap GaN-FET's
That is something that would be of interest. The parts I've used would, but they are beamlead and extremely small.? THey would require a board for sure and precision assembly. The part that has seen

Re: Timing confusion U3S #gps #u3s #wspr
Forgot to mention.? The setup is TXing into a dummy load.? No antenna, very short coax. With the U-Blox M7 GPS the timing is such that I can decode every transmission.? But instead of starting the

Re: #qmx #troubleshooting #troubleshooting #qmx
This means your supply voltage is 13.8 V, *wrong* ! There are several warnings in the documents not to feed a 12 V QMX by more than 12.0 V. This looks like a broken controller IC203. Is the current

Re: QMX+ Power Output
Mike and Andy, I am very pleased with how the QMX+ turned out, it's quite an amazing transceiver especially for the price. I spent considerable time adjusting the spacing on the BP toroids and the

Re: QMX died before i got a chance to transmit.
Hello Ted, I think it's ok to wait for the answer before doing more. BTW you may find information about the start up process here ( /g/QRPLabs/wiki/36878 ). I guess the most probable

PTT selection in QMX+
Is it possible to choose the active grounded method for PTT via the Menu or is it necessary to utilize a terminal program. ?If so,I could use some help finding the correct menu item! ?Thanks.

Re: RF Amp using the now cheap GaN-FET's
Could these GaN FETs simply replace the BS170s in the QRP Labs kits?? Maybe get JLPCB to make a postage stamp sized board to replace the current block of BS170s.

Hello Martin, Using a spectrum display like the N1MM's Spectrum Window / RSP1A, it is obvious that quite a few strong stations have key-clicks that extend the transmit bandwith up to 5 kHz or more. No

Re: QMX+ Power Output
Congrats on the build! You should be able to get a bit more power out on some bands. I¡¯ve built a few QMX and QMX+ at this point. Even the best windings need some tuning. I¡¯ve found on the QMX+,

Checking my newly built 20M band QCX+ I found the following facts: On a 50 Ohm dummy load - with a 13.5V DC supply I only get around 3 Watt output; - 8.7 Peak BPF looks OK; - 8.8 I-Q Bal 8.9 Phase Lo

It should run wspr without the GPS if you set time and reference osc separately. So do that to verify the system and ref oscillators are working /stable (even with GPS both free run once a TX sequence

A perfect design and excellent implementation. This also applies to your YouTube clip. Describing the theoretical background of this antenna and measuring its efficiency is an interesting challenge.
