Re: QCX-SSB: SSB with your QCX transceiver
Excellent! This would give a highly efficient SSB transmitter, curious the technique has not been used more. On the positive side:? No need to steer the si5351 frequency around at audio rates if that

Hi, Rick My guess is that you are hearing power supply ripple. Put together 8 penlite - c cells - flashlight batteries and try the radio on that. One of the downsides of direct-conversion receivers is

Thanks for the great reply Alan. Am I correct in thinking that as long as these amps are biased (> ~0.6v) things are ok with the radio? As for the requested voltages: IC6 - All pins 2.64v (except 4

I remember an article written in 'The Bulletin' many years ago, when transistors were 'poor' devices.? The article showed that an SSB signal can be split into an amplitude component, and a frequency

I find when winding a core needing lots of turns such as for an 80 meter coil, to find the middle of the wire needed for the wind and then wind each half of the winding with each half of the wire.?

Thanks Glen. Good article. I had no problem winding T1 for my radio. It was yours that threw me for a loop for a while. I eventually undid it and rewound it all again. Oh, I haven't given up. I really

Re: Ultimate 3S Display Quit
Could you have bumped the potentiometer for the contrast? It's pretty touchy and would give the same blank-looking display. You might also want to be sure that your processor chip is well seated.

Have just completed the 40 meter QCX which is working well except for a microphonics issue? Whenever the rig is moved or touched, even slightly, there is a loud microphonic noise in the head phones

Agree with Ted. Indeed, take you time unwinding it and, when done, I take two pairs of pliers and give it a light stretch, which seems to make it easier to wind. Jack, W8TEE

Re: QCX-SSB: SSB with your QCX transceiver
Yep, it was in practice mode, so no output. Power out is still just 2.5 watts in SK mode, so the output filter isn¡¯t quite right, minor issue. Also had the antenna plugged into the power meter port
