Re: Are these good mods?
And, if I remember correctly (I do not even have a QCX!) this problem was actually due to "Power Amplifier instability, solution by Daniel Ekman SA2KNG" on that page

Re: Ordering parts without outrageous shipping costs
Digi Key will ship for free many items if you pre pay for your order+ your states sales tax by check and snail mail it in. I'd done this a few times and it's a real CYA option for those times you

Re: Are these good mods?
Jerry,
This is covered here http://qrp-labs.com/qcx/qcxmods
I would suggest you take care if you do any other "unofficial" modification.

Re: qcx problem
Joel,
It seems to me that IC2 is not starting up properly.
You have checked all the voltages on the LCD?
If that is so then please contact Hans, he does not seem to be reading this topic.

Re: phase noise
F1US,
If you are referring to a phase noise plot that I posted recently that was meant to be sent only to Hans.
It was 116 MHz
Please ignore it.

Re: Output vs. frequency behavior QCX 30m
Hi Bill. C30 and L4 ARE important for good operation of a class E amp as you want losses to be minimum here. Take a look at pages 112 and 113 in the QCX manual, and the referred articles, which go

Re: Output vs. frequency behavior QCX 30m
Thanks all for your reactions. I have built my QCX for 30m. The fact that its output power is higher on 40m is unintended and not the result of some sort of deliberate compromise. My new LPF should be

Re: Ordering parts without outrageous shipping costs
You don't even have to mail in your Digikey order, just the check. You
can assemble the cart online and then choose to mail a check to pay.
You wait a bit longer for your parts but you save
