Re: Power output on 20 meters.
Update: I have done the LPF mod consisting of removing a turn from each of the LPF toroids, and I added the 10K resistor from the drain of Q5 to +12V. I'm a little hesitant to remove anymore for fear

Re: QCX 7mhz Output Filter
I'll type in the voltages at 100khz frequency intervals, from 5mhz to 8mhz, that should answer the ripple question.
And yes, have FFT on the scope, will play with both tomorrow and send in

Re: QCX Modifications
I've just added the 10K bias resistor to Q5 and the transmitter
instability at Vcc > 13V has gone. And I think TX power is up a bit as
well.
I'm still not quite at the power level given in the

Re: QCX 7mhz Output Filter
Have you got an FFT function on that scope ? It would be interesting to
look at the harmonics present.

Re: A Construction Aid for QCX Builders
Another good one is the Stickvise but more expensive at $30.00. Best used when screwed on a board and using spacers to elevate the jaws.

Re: QCX 7mhz Output Filter
This is strange as the passband insertion loss should be fairly constant. At higher frequency the attenuation should increase, not decrease. Do you have any ripple in the passband?
Could it come from

Re: QCX
Hi Barry,
I've seen that a couple times but power off/on solved it in my case, in your case have you looked at trouble shooting 6.3 in the manual (around page 124)?

Hi Karl,
All you have to do is Read The Fine Manual.
