Re: QCX on WSPR
Hi Doc.! The 390pF measured 327pF and the 560 measured 500 pF. 73 Andrew Sent: 09 October 2017 14:01 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [QRPLabs] QCX on WSPR Any idea what the questionable capacitors

Re: QCX $49 5W CW transceiver introductory video
Oh Hans, I¡¯ve just watched the video. If I¡¯d known about the built in test equipment, I¡¯d have had one of these from you at Newark. I suppose it¡¯s my own fault for not paying attention to all

Re: Power on issue solved on my QCX :-)
Had same issue, low power to ATMega\LCD (poor contrast adjustment, random microprocessor resets). Cause turned out to be residue on the leads of L6, despite the solder joint looking good it exhibited

Re: Power on issue solved on my QCX :-)
PA0EJH gave me a tip. The 100uH inductors in the kit are verry small thus having some resistance By simply mounting larger types with lower resistance the problem was solved on my QCX. 73 John PD7MAA

Re: QCX Transistor Q6 Getting Hot and Smoking
Oops NE5U@... works I order from Mouser and Digikey. I think Mouser was cheaper this time but I had to pay tax. I usually wait until I get a few things and then order. It saves on shipping.

Contact me off list and I'll get your ship to address. Plus I wanted to ask you about Corolla. I have a friend that lives there

Re: QCX Transistor Q6 Getting Hot and Smoking
Mike, where did you order from? Or can I buy 2 from you? AC3K

Re: QCX Transistor Q6 Getting Hot and Smoking
I've had some on order but not received them yet. I think they were something like a 20 cents each. I should receive them this week. 73 NE5U Mike

Re: QCX Transistor Q6 Getting Hot and Smoking
From the spec sheets MPS2907A: Ic (collector current) continuous = -600mA DC MPS751: Ic = 2A DC There are other differences but I think this indicates why the MPS2907 smoked. 73 NE5U Mike

Re: 160M LPF Question
Hi Hans How on Earth did I misunderstand that? Duh! Thanks for straightening me out. Aside from that blunder the build is going well. I still have to build two of the filters (next rainy or windy day

Re: 160M LPF Question
I must have missed that option when I read the relay board manual. I will look again! In my situation I need to do something. I have filters for 160m, 630m, and 2200m - none of which will fit on the

Thanks again for your help, Mikael! I¡¯ve ordered both sizes solar cells. Many of them will probably go to waste anyway, while trying to master a good solder technique in the beginning ? Best 73,

Re: 160M LPF Question
Hi Jan That's a good point. Using the recommended jumper configuration in the relay-switched filter kit manual, filter position 1 must always be populated, and must have the filter with the highest

Re: 160M LPF Question
Hi Hans What about the signal always going through relay 1? If position 1 is empty or have an 160 m filter will it work ? Jan

Re: 160M LPF Question
Hi Yes! Put the 160m LPF on the relay board, and 80m LPF on the main board. Remember to set the right bands in the configuration, to route the signal through the right relay. 73 Hans G0UPL

The one I installed is MPS2907 so that could be the issue. Thanks! Eli

Re: Can't get WSPR spots from U3S after installing LPF Relay kit
Hi Bill and all, I appreciate the guidance thus far. I've done the continuity checks, gone though all the solders and touched up a couple that looked iffy, and checked continuity with a LPF installed

Re: QCX Transistor Q6 Getting Hot and Smoking
Eli, Q6 was replaced with a MPS751.? A few complained about the original transistor burning up so a heavier one is now used.?? If yours is not a MPS751, replace it with one. Lee, w0vt
