Re: QMX Feature Request - On Board CAT/serial monitor tool
Hello Matt I can implement that yes. No problem. I'll add it to my list. QMX has 1, 2 or 3 Virtual COM Serial ports according to how you configure it in the System configurarion menu. Currently no

Re: Dreaded dead transmit from SSB Calibration routine
The only things lost by not doing calibration are: 1) the phase pre-distortion compensation doesn't do anything (as if you had turned it off) 2) the sideband phase/amplitude synchronization is set to

Two SMD component questions regarding a QMX+
D505 has an odd appearance, it's missing the T4 label and appears damaged, but tests fine with a multimeter diode tester The 331 SMD inductor in the second photo has a missing bit on the top. Should

New QMX died while listening
I received my fully assembled QMX about a week ago, but dont have a mic, or a cw key yet.? I got the high bands since I am a tech so i could use 10m now, and planning on getting my general in

Re: Dreaded dead transmit from SSB Calibration routine
Thank you, Stan.? I thought this might be the case.? ?Thankfully nothing seemed to have gone wrong from the calibration of my knock-around QMX.? Already had replaced the BS170s on that one last

Re: QMX+ Pulse in headphones on TX
First the simple questions: 1) Are you sure you are not somehow stuck in CW mode, and hearing the pulses of 'dits' or 'dahs' from the keyer?? Maybe change the keyer speed and see if the pulsing also

Re: New QMX+ Calibration victim
Jonas, It is very uncommon for IC501/IC502 to fail, but quite common for IC503 to fail with blown finals. So I would first lift a leg of IC503 that connects to the output of IC501 or IC502, and make

QMX+ Pulse in headphones on TX
Hi guys I have built a QMX+ Wound for 12V. FW 1_02_000 From the get go, on TX, I have in my headphones a pulsing sound. No tone to it. It¡¯s a fast pace pulse. Maybe 3-4hz. When using the SWR tune

Re: Dreaded dead transmit from SSB Calibration routine
Two comments: 1.? If calibrated at a lower excitation voltage then operated at higher excitation there will be co compensations for the higher voltage.? This is the same as if a calibration does not

Re: Qmx L501 inductor Partially broken
That's too bad.? This is the first one I've heard of with the wire broken from the factory.? Chips off the top are common, and don't affect performance. If the broken wire happens to be from an

Re: Dreaded dead transmit from SSB Calibration routine
No, Mike, you don't want to do that, unless you also want to run the QMX at that lower voltage. This is because the calibration routines store the phase compensation values for voltages across the

Re: Dreaded dead transmit from SSB Calibration routine
Would it help to feed the QMX under update with a lower voltage, so as to reduce the strain on the BS170's during calibration?? For example, if I feed my 12V QMX with 9V, the power drops by about

Thanks Richard for the reply, but further checking also highlighted the thread breakage. Honestly, I don't understand how it happened to be and it's not cikpa of transport. I'll ask Hans S¨¹uto to

Re: Qmx L501 inductor Partially broken
The consensus seems to be it doesn't affect it at all. If you have the little piece and it bothers you super glue it later. You can search on broken coil etc.

Re: Dreaded dead transmit from SSB Calibration routine
Do not do it if your not comfortable.? Hans said calibration is not required and the unit works fine in SSB without it.
