Re: sound from the PC and QMX+
Hello Martin,
If you are on a Windows version, have you tried using the "listen" feature on the sound system?? How you get to it is dependent on your version of Windows.? For Windows 11, it is

Re: Available Hand Mics for QMX SSB ?
I used a Baofeng microphone in which I put a new 50 ohm, 1W speaker and a new microphone capsule. I am surprised how good and loud it sounds in the new speaker without any amplifier. I removed the

Chris,
I wish you would not use these, obscure to me, acronyms:-)
But you did post " one way to check the power connectors is to use a meter in diode mode with the power reversed so I can see the

I just ordered a QCX+ kit
After months, even years of thinking I eventually ordered another QRP Labs kit today: a QCX+.
I had previously built a QDX Hi Band and am satisfied with it. I followed closely the development of the

I don't buy this, sounds like FUD to me.

Re: #qmx #SSB Firmware beta 1_01_003 release

Hi Gary,
Mine is the same. I can't get it to complete on any band. I have spent several hours messing with band edge and center frequencies. It didn't seem to make any difference at all.

Also inspect carefully the interconnect of the LIN_REG_EN signal fromthe smps card to the main board, ensuring nothing there is pulling it down.

Re: Max Voltage for QMX 9V
I think the issue is that 12V pushes the voltage rating on the BS170's, and the increased current at 9V for the same power, ends up pushing the current rating of the parts.

QMX+ in CQWW SSB
I just finished playing in the CQ World Wide SSB contest! My setup included the QMX+ (firmware 1_01_003) and a 3-el yagi at 15 metres above ground.
The QMX+ performed beautifully. I made 118 contacts

Re: QMX+ high pitch noise on power. Now dead.
That was it!!! Do you have any spare diodes to replace it with? I don't
have any and I don't want to run it without.

Re: Max Voltage for QMX 9V
I know that he built it for 9v, same as mine. I know that one can choose to build it for 12v input by a small change in the winding of a toroid.
I do not know why the components after said toroid

Re: Max Voltage for QMX 9V
The device can be built to either handle 12v or handle 9v; the person asking the question here built their radio (the transformer part, specifically) for 9v.

Re: Max Voltage for QMX 9V
There doesn’t seem to be a clear consistent answer, the manual implies “a little over” is OK but does not define “little”. I admit that I don’t understand how a device that can handle 12v

Re: Max Voltage for QMX 9V
You could use 2- 7809's in parallel for added current rating or 1-78S09, which I think is good for 2 amps by itself. Your input voltage just needs to 3 or 4 volts higher then the needed output

Re: Max Voltage for QMX 9V
You could put a small buck converter or a couple of diodes in the line to drop the voltage into acceptable range.
