Re: The $200,000 Question
A 4S LiPo is 16.8V at full charge!? ?You need a bunch of diodes as even after
near 80% discharge it will be 12.8!!!
If LFE then14.2 at full charge.
8 NiMh might be a better fit for Q-X radios.?

Re: The $200,000 Question
I don¡¯t have a QMX+ yet but what I intend to do is build it for 9V and install a linear voltage regulator so that I can supply it from 12V, 13.8V power supplies, 12V lead-acid batteries (could be

Re: The $200,000 Question
I built all of my Q*X radios for 12v. My thought was that if I built it for 12 and only had a 9v battery I would be ok, but if I built it for 9 and only had a 12v battery I would be out of luck (or

Re: Still no output on QMX
I'm not sure about the 0.8 V for "no key" aka "idle" but for "T" it looks like a short between gate and source of Q507.
(Did you check the solder joints of Q507?)
If no external short between G and S

Re: Assembled qcx-mini 20m
For your item #2, you can adjust the displayed frequency using several methods including those in the thread below. Reverse beacon spots have perfectly matched my display since I adjusted my 20m

Re: W2LI Magnetic Loop Antenna - Anyone Use This?
FWIW, I don¡¯t own the W2LI loop but I am a long-time Alex Loop user. You¡¯ll find that with practice that it becomes pretty easy to get to within about 2:1 SWR by resonating the loop for maximum

Re: QMX High Current draw on assembly.
#qmx
The receive current draw will be different depending on what voltage you built it to run on, and what voltage the QMX is being fed while your doing your initial testing. For a 12V QMX running on 12

Re: Connector Source Assistance
Okay, thanks everyone. There have been some really good suggestions here. I think I've figured out what to search for, and what size.? When it's all figured out and working, I'll post some pictures

Re: Connector Source Assistance
Yessir, Andy suggested some 2mm banana connectors. I will be doing some searching for those as they certainly seem viable.? Thanks. Have a great weekend.

I understand and that is what I am using now. But I would like to be able to leave the little Z-match tuner out of the setup sometimes. Extra coax, extra loss for an already tiny signal. I mean, it

Re: The $200,000 Question
Just a thought:
Best of both worlds:? Wind two T501s, one for 9v and one for 12v and arrange plug/socket to allow interchange.
Lots of room in a QMX+ to do this.

Re: The $200,000 Question
It's a question which is heavily driven by your power source preferences. If you're flexible on power sources, the 9V gives a bit higher efficiency and probably gives a little less stress on some of
