Re: QMX Low Band - TX problem
Just wondering ... Certainly odd behavior.? Do the PTT and TX indicator dots under the VFO letter on the LCD display also disappear when the TX stutters and/or stops? Does the unit have the same

Re: Hermes Lite 1 : RM Italy BLA 350 : QRP Labs 10W Linear
Hi I've redrawn the system schematic to reflect using the HL2 0~17dBm RF output, please see below And in case the quality is insufficient, there is also a .PDF attached. Could I please ask that you

Re: QMX Low Band - TX problem
I have tried powering it from a Talent Cell battery pack & from the same small switchmode supply that I have been using for months, as well as a 5 Amp bench supply - I don't think it is a power

Not sure whether anyone else has reported this, but when I play message 2 on my QMX+ it also immediately plays Message 1. ————————- Jim N7RCS Palm Bay, FL

Re: #qmx #firmware 1_00_020 released: minor stuff and bug fixes #qmx #firmware
My QMX+ has the same issue. 1_00_019 works fine. 1_00_020 has unreadable display. The 1_00_020 release is the first one to use all 8 address bits on the LCD. All previous revisions use only 4 of them.

Re: QMX (1_00_020) SWR - Issue?
Don, usually yes, but the SWR figure from the VNA looks similar to the figure from the QMX, only shifted by some 100 kHz. 73, Ludwig

Re: QMX S9+ noise on receive
Here is my I/Q scan on a QMX HB. A far cry from how it's supposed to look. So I guess something is not quite right. 73, Andreas, K6AKW

Re: QMX transmits fine, but no receive
Dirk There was a small group of us here who had a similar problem with the PCM1804 a few weeks ago. The common symptom was a low resistance to ground from either Vdd or Vcc in the order of a few

Hi Allison I rigged up a 50ohm BNC dummy load and connected it to the DSO, (Siglent SDS1102CML+ 100MHz Dual channel oscilloscope), and life is suddenly V good, see table below !!! Fmeasure= 5398.5

I've taken a look at the HL2 schematics, RFFrontend.sch and PA.sch - https://github.com/softerhardware/Hermes-Lite2/blob/master/hardware/hl/hermeslite.pdf and the drive to the 17dBm connector, "RF1",

Re: Hermes Lite 1 : RM Italy BLA 350 : QRP Labs 10W Linear
I've already got the HL2, the EU1SW is basically an HL2 with a 20W Linear in an enclosure for about USD400 more than what I paid for the HL2 itself. The QRPLabs 10W linear is about USD70 delivered inc

Still waiting for the replacement PCM1804, but the Chipquik arrived. What a great stuff, highly recommended. Desoldering within 2 minutes and no issues.

To be precise for transmitting WSPR on 20m: the actual TX frequency must be inside the mentioned block for WSPR: 20m: 14.097000 – 14.097200 MHz Now if we use the Beacon mode of a QMX machine then

Re: Intermittent QDX transmit failure on one band
Yes, exactly. The toroids are the ones to worry about. The 47 uH molded inductors suffer in a different way. They are a bit brittle and are subject to physical damage. That too can shut down an

Re: Intermittent QDX transmit failure on one band
Thanks John! I'll start with those. Just to be clear, when you're talking about checking the inductor leads first, you mean the hand-wound toroids (L2-L4, L6, L8, L10)? As opposed to the L1, L5, L7

Re: Intermittent QDX transmit failure on one band
Leigh, Solder joints can behave like this. Imagine surfaces pulling apart as they cool and shrink. With focus on the 20m LPF, I suggest checking the inductor leads first. A poor joint that is the
