Re: QMX - no power
Jeff,
I would do one test before ordering the power supply replacements. Verify that you do not have a short to ground on the 3.3-volt and 5-volt rails with the converters removed. If there is a

Hi Jon,
As Tisha suggests, the 9-volt battery will limit the current to about 1.5 amps.? That would be OK for transmitter tests, but a lower current limit is better for the initial power-up.

If you¡¯re going for the 12V build, get one of these:

You could also just use a 9 volt transistor radio battery.

QMX - no power
Hi All.
After 8+ months, and 2500+ QSOs, a sad day here today as my QMX will not
power up. Pressing the left encoder doesn't turn the rig on.
I have taken it apart, and not seeing anything obvious,

Re: Q: Replacement for BS170?
Hi Evan,
A few months ago you had observed that the BS170 failure rate on QMX was
far less than that on QDX, and had suggested that it was testimony to the
efficacy of wave shaping on QMX preventing

All,
The issue with the QDX is it does not have a key shaping function.? Because of that, there is a very large voltage spike at the abrupt end of the transmission cycle due to the magnetic field

I'd like to add the 5.1k resistors to my V1 QMX, but for some reason the "attached photos" of mods that folks have done in this thread are not visible to me. Can someone post a photo of their

Re: Q: Replacement for BS170?
I bought the TN0110s from Mouser. TN0110N3-G-P002
IIRC there was no real difference in the suffixes that mattered. Same leads, etc.
I've never seen anything official on putting Zeners on the finals

Roy,
Neither Ludwig nor I can figure out where enough power was coming from to
heat your BS170.
You saw approximately 100mA excess current in RX. Your diagnostic screen

Re: SOLVED: QMX Receives but does not transmit
Just tested and no, with firmware 017 RTTY still does not work. Also Olivia and Contestia do not work either. Back in firmware 006 they all worked.

Re: SOLVED: QMX Receives but does not transmit
Was this issue with RTTY in fldigi not working on QMX ever fixed? I was playing around with it appears to transmit for a little bit then stops. I have tried with and without the TXid.
