Re: QDX finals modification, imbalanced heating
Peter_Li, To tell the truth, I have not transmitted on 10M. Also, it's a bit cold here in Wisconsin so I'm not presently doing any "Throw a wire into the tree" and transmitting. I also don't have any

Re: QMX kit has a internal short at power up
I've come to a similar conclusion about the availability of a replacement boot-loaded MCU, Instead of starting my hi-band QMX kit I built a hi-band (tr)uSdx kit to go with my lo-band (tr)uSdx. I'm not

Re: QMX / Antenna tuner disagreement
Garrett, I usually use an EFRW with a 9:1 unun and the 4SQRP (or ZM-2) tuner. I have not really had any problems with this setup. My most recent setup ended up working just as well. But this was the

Re: 5W mini transmitter for presetting the ATU
Today I used the QMX on the ATU-100 modified for QRP. The antenna is a 2 x 27m dipole. 80m band, tuning rate=40%, SWR=1.3 output = 7.1 W 60m band, tuningrate=40%, SWR=1.8 output = 5.5 W 40m band,

Re: QMX / Antenna tuner disagreement
Glad to hear it!! ?FYI I was able to get 10 turns through a 240-31 core, with the (Buddipole coax RG-58 fat) molded BNC connector, without scratching up the toroid, and without using zip ties -- just

Re: QMX 10-20m LPF0 problem?
I have an exactly identical sweep to the one you showed. Not sure why, but literally identical. Getting 4.2W out with a 12.2V supply (per terminal reading). Seems to work fine, but definitely looks

Re: QMX 10-20m LPF0 problem?
Update: Testing completed and deemed a success. My seemingly-kind-of-maybe-reversed-looking-shaped sweep had no trouble making a 20M DX QSO on a terrible antenna, so for me at least, this odd looking

Re: QMX kit has a internal short at power up
D109 is really just a short term fail safe (if the regulator loses control of the 3V supply. It /shouldn't/ get activated unless there's a problem somewhere else (like a short to the +12 supply...) If

Re: QMX kit has a internal short at power up
You might check D109 (the 3V6zener on the #2 plug-in board. Mine was "soft" and although it began conducting a bit below 3.6 volts, it allowed the voltage to climb above 5 volts and caused a hard
