Re: QDX - protection of BS17O PA
Hi Hans and all: I am by no means an RF engineer.? That said, and just shooting in the dark, I wonder if, under some set of conditions, a parasitic oscillation could be the culprit?? My thinking is

Re: QDX - protection of BS17O PA
Hans, I found on the QDX 12 V version a point where, on 40M and a certain impedance of the antenna load the QDX started to oscilate at transmitting. Current went up at oscilating from the normal

Re: QCX-Mini CAT
hello John, I don't understand if you are looking for an interface to connect the qcx to your PC via cat or if you already have everything and it doesn't work, if it can be useful I am sending you the

Re: QDX - protection of BS17O PA
Hi Chris I measured voltage in the open load and short-circuit cases, in the case of open load, the current was low. In the case of shorted, the current was high. In neither case was the voltage

Re: QDX - protection of BS17O PA
One thing I'm wondering about is how can the worst conditions for the transmitter be generated?? Using a passive network of course. Connecting to another transmitter is going too far. People say

Re: Another QMX failure
I did some disassembly of my failed QMX.? After removing various parts, I still have a short on the Vdd bus of the main board with none of the daughterboards installed.? The one significant part not

Fend Ercin: If both units work fine by themselves, it would seem that the problem is with how you connect them together.? Check that the 1 pulse per second (PPS) and Receive Data (RXD) from the GPS

Re: Missing the famous cheat sheet
Dear Hajo There is not, as yet, any equivalent cheat sheet for QMX, compared to QCX. You should find the operation and menu structure quite similar, since QMX inherited (initially at least) it's code

Re: QCX firmware upgrade instructions #qcx #firmware
Dear I don't have any record of you having purchased a QCX. Though not having your name, I was only able to search on your email address; this being somewhat inconclusive, I apologize if I am missing

Missing the famous cheat sheet
Hello, perhaps the tomato season has blinded my eyes, but I have not found the cheat sheet for the QMX. I do only CW, so the version of the QCX did its job. Anyway it would be nice. Hajo

Re: QMX strange behavior
If you get two dots then categorically there is never anything wrong with your QMX. It's only an issue with your PC sound settings. Volume is set in three places, all three multiply together. WSJT-X

Hi Stephan Build build build! FYI in near-future firmware I intend to provide a software configurable SWR limit. I know. It won't be instant like a hardware limit. On the other hand there isn't any

Re: QMX strange behavior
I have experienced no power out in FT8 on two different QMXs. Like others have said there was not enough audio out. I traced my issue down to my laptop running windows 10. For some unknown reason ,

Re: QMX strange behavior
Single dot is basically no audio. You're looking for a line to indicate enough audio. 73, Cliff, AE5ZA

Re: QMX strange behavior
By lowering the "rise threshold" and "fall threshold" I am able to get the single dot, but still no audio out...? I set the values to as low as 40 and 20 respectively.

Re: QMX strange behavior
As others have said the double dot indicates insufficient audio. In Wsjtx be sure the output slider is all the way up. Fldigi will not work with the QMX using firmware after 006. A change was made

I have the volume slider at maximum in WSJT-X It appears that neither my PC nor Android phone are loud enough...? or perhaps the audio is not getting in at all? I have the QMX selected as the input
