Re: QMX T507 winding
If one winding is wound different to what the designer intended, then the "forward" and "reverse" sensing of the reflectometer will be reversed.? Hans could provide a configuration parameter to cope

Re: QMX Fail on power up
My concern, Dan, is that replacing the cap with a sturdier cap without
understanding and correcting why it failed in the first place may just move
the next failure to another, and costlier, place.

Re: QDX Temperature: 4 watts at 8V vs 4 watts at 12V
I have the same setup with my qdx. The 7809 is inside the qdx stock enclosure. The 7809 tab is bolted to the qdx case for a heat sink.

Re: QMX Fail on power up
John,
Maybe I should drag my feet. Hard to do. We'll see. Next step is checking for resistance of 3.3 V bus. Waiting on micro clips to test things out.

I?m not Hans, but I asked him in private about AGC: AGC is not yet implemented. Neither is SWR Meter.
I?ll quote Hans directly: "Firmware is getting there, bit by bit"

Re: QMX died in first test run
The Lab Power Supply was a very early investment in the uSDX / (tr)uSDX development path, and it paid for itself multiple times.....

Re: QMX died in first test run
Hi Dan,
I?m not 100% sure, what was the cause in my case, so I can only guess.
But I would look at the real obvious stuff:
- I?ve shortened some of the display wires and gave them another touch

Re: QMX Fail on power up
Maybe you should drag your feet a little bit on this repair until more
is understood about root cause and corrective action.

Re: QMX Fail on power up
Dan, that may be a little too close for comfort. Ten volt 220uF
tantalums are available in the same package size. Stack two? Put one
on the PS board, one somewhere else on the 5V

Re: QMX Fail on power up
Oh one other question. C107 appears to be readily available but it looks like it is only a 6 V tantalum. That doesn't seem like much headroom on a 5 V bus, does it?

Re: QMX Fail on power up
I am slowly working through troubleshooting. 5V bus reads 450 ohms. Powering 5V bus through external power supply shows 90 mA, which seems reasonable. I want to try to power the 3.3V bus with an

Re: QMX died in first test run
I've been messing with electronics for most of my life both professionally and for fun. One rule I was taught early on is that you must always employ a current limiting PSU for any new build.

Re: QDX Temperature: 4 watts at 8V vs 4 watts at 12V
When you say using a 7809, I am assuming that was not added to the QDX, but rather the power supply or in between the PS and QDX.

A failure of one of the two orthogonal outputs of the Si5351 could explain the symptoms.? He measured 2.5 volts on two of the capacitors.? A total failure would have 2.5 volts on only one of
