Re: A song of praise for Hans Summers
Axel, these lyrics can be sung to the tune of "Livin' on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi. Enjoy. :-)

Re: Kicad Expert ?....
It looks like your pin spacing and via dimensions are wrong...
I found the OSC5A2B02 on ebay showing pin 1-3 and 1-5 with 19.05mm spacing.. pins 0.8mm.

Re: 50W amplifier - 13.8V power supply
I found this right after my last post.
The LRS-350-12 has an even higher current capability. I suppose if you were to invest in a new supply, you'd just go for a 24V or 50V supply anyway, so I may

Re: 50W amplifier - 13.8V power supply
Took a quick look in the instruction manual and project page. Couldn't find anything on current draw. You could try throwing a fuse in line with the DC supply that's close to 2.89A and see the

Hasn’t the first part been reduced to 17 turns pushed tightly together or 19 turns spread out? ?I rewound mine with 19 turns spread out and I saw the filter results against someone that did 17

As I play more on the air with the QMX, I'm enjoying it more and more. Multi bands is great in a rig this size. I have been keeping track of little bugs. I am mainly a CW guy so my observation will

Re: New assembled High Bands QDX went into smoke
That goes mean, better using only 11V to get not more than 3-4 Watts to protect the BS170 transistors. In this case two zener diodes make really sense. better to have trx with 3-4 Watts working than a

Re: LunchboxesQCX
I use 5 QCX including QCX-mini for different bands. I use 4x Li-On 16V as batteries. I always tune the antenna with the ATU-100. I've never had a problem with the BS170 before.

Re: New assembled High Bands QDX went into smoke
The relevant voltage is NOT 12V. The RF voltage is over 40V. For 5W into
50 ohms the voltage is roughly 47 V p-p. If the SWR is greater than 1:1
the voltage goes up. The BS170 has a max voltage of

50W amplifier - 13.8V power supply
If I use a 50W amplifier for QCX series with a 13.8V power supply, knowing that the output power will be reduced to around 15 to 20W what will be the DC intensity? I ask this question in order to know

The Zener trick you mention has been around and written up by some others before. After I found out about it, I added 51 V 1 W Zeners to my QDX and incorporated them into my QMX. I have 3
