Re: QDX Owners & Users... Limit your ! CURRENT !
Could a TT PSU schematic serve as a template? MyModel 979?? (5A adjustable) still works fine with my Century 22. Michael UK 2E0IHW

Re: QDX Owners & Users... Limit your ! CURRENT !
Perhaps a one chip current limiter like the STM STC1C - relatively low voltage drop and adjustable current limit. $#2.96 + a few other parts. I didn't do a careful search but this shows the concept.

Re: QDX Owners & Users... Limit your ! CURRENT !
Limiting the current is in excellent and efficient way to protect the finals. TenTec did this for years with their power supplies.? A 20 amp power supply would trip out at 20.2 amps and super fast.?

Hi Steve, thanks for the link.? Nice video of Ian.? I have also checked all that test points to be sure the T/R switching is doing well as on RX as well as on TX. What I miss is the value of the

Re: Friday afternoon cars
It's interesting to see the and understand the linguistic diferences in different parts of the world. To be "pissed" (US) = feeling angry. But in the UK or Aus it means being unduly influenced by

Re: QDX: Anyone else having a problem with image rejection?
#qdx
Hi Colin Firstly, are you correctly referring to image rejection (the superhet image 24kHz away from the wanted signal) and if so, how are you measuring that? Or are you referring to unwanted sideband

Re: Friday afternoon cars
Hi, Peter Since the first 2 words mean "get angry" on this side of the pond, rather than "leave", over here the second and third words are "On Everything". 73 Jim W4JED

Re: QDX audio line out tap
Hi Ken, Unless you are in the directory where those files (/qdx_ui_103.py/ and /qdx_sdr.py/) reside you'll have to use a full path name, such as sudo chmod +x /home/pi/qdxsdr/qdx_ui_103.py.

Re: QDX Owners & Users... Limit your ! CURRENT !
Bob It is push-pull so 2 would probably be better. But the LPF switching would have to be changed or removed, 1N4007s are unlikely to be loss- free at 60MHz. 73 Alan G4ZFQ

Re: QDX Owners & Users... Limit your ! CURRENT !
American hams/former CBers will understand this. When 4 watts isn't enough, GET AN AMPLIFIER. FWIW there are still loads of CB amps floating around, and some of them still work. Even if you get one

Re: QDX Owners & Users... Limit your ! CURRENT !
Hans, A little off topic here but what power out can you expect with 3x BS170 on 50MHz? I know QDX is not a 6M rig ( yet ). Would 1X BS170 be better than 3 (at 50Mhz) to lower gate capacitance? TNX!

Sorry I meant 500mA current. Typo. Power dissipation rating 833mW "More powerful transistors" go hand in hand with higher device capacitance. Efficiency goes down, driver power goes up, heat

I was just digging into this. I am only 20 db down on 20M and 80M and 10 db down on 30M and 40M. Is there a way in hardware to adjust the phase of the IQ signal? Thank you, -- Colin Kaminski - K6JTH

WSJT-X error: Requested input audio format is not supported on device
I'm using WSJT-X 2.5.4 on Linux (Raspbian). For audio input and output, I use: plughw:CARD=Transceiver,DEV=0 ...in mono. And it works. Sometimes. I already made a couple of QSOs with these settings.
