Re: QCX Mini - Rotary encoder not working
Well, I decided to pull the 2x4 male header and replace it. I verified continuity all the way through from the top of the control board to the bottom of the main board and everything checks out.

I remember my first visit as a kid in the 70s to Busch Gardens in Tampa, where every adult got a free beer at their "bier garten"...that also ended due to all the liability concerns, I'm sure.

Julian,
Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! This was very helpful. I will go back and recheck the 2x4 male header in the controls board.

Re: 10W Linear PA
Forgot to write.? Output attenuator was 50dB.? So the first picture shows spectrum at 10W output power and the second at 1W.? I?have built-in a 6dB 50 Ohm attenuator.

Re: QCX Mini - Rotary encoder not working
Hi Kevin,
The behavior you describe is caused by one of the terminals of the encoder not being connected to the processor - a bad connection.
Here are answers to your questions:
1. The pins are

Re: Internal battery and antenna tuner in QCX+?
Jakob,
You don't need a tuner if it's a fixed location, but it you move the antenna around, you usually need to retune the wire. That's okay if is a single move.

Re: QCX Mini Trimmer Capacitor

Dan, the BPF capacitor is for the receiver only, and has nothing to do with Tx.
I can probably salvage one from a dead board to send you; I'll let you know shortly.
But you seem to have several

Re: QCX Mini Trimmer Capacitor

Hi Dan. That trimmer capacitor has nothing to do with the transmitter
output power. And, even with no capacitor in the circuit you should still
get a fairly high test signal level, like 6 or so.

Hi Doug, looks like you are doing things correctly. There was space between my front panel and display board. Things are quite snug and very secure even with the gap.
