Re: QDX next batch
Hi Derek That is not very likely I'm afraid... I'm worried there may not even be enough to fulfil the first batch of orders. I placed stock in the shop but the kit took 24 orders MORE than it should

Hi, mine arrived in Cheshire yesterday.? UK shipments are going well.

Re: QDX next batch
Hello Hans, Glad you¡¯ve managed to source some more! I never got round to asking on here but I was 30mins late for the first batch before it ran out (despite setting alarms ?) - if there are any

Re: strange issue with 20m classic; ideas invited
Ok. I was thinking a faulty BS170 could affect the output capacitance or induktance and give all sorts of frequency dependant problems. I would definately suspect them if the rig once had worked. If

Re: QDX - how to best check the filter performance
Thank you Shirley - and I do appreciate your reply - and sure there will be people reading your reply with big interest I will do some testes when the QDX arrives - and see what sort of results I

Re: QDX arrived in Norfolk, England
Exactly the same here Bill, but over in Kings Lynn, Norfolk. ?Friend just around the corner from me got one yesterday as well so it looks like Norfolk UK managed to get a good share from the initial

Re: Classic QCX C1 fully meshed
It was ¡°almost meshed¡± and the photo showed maybe 50% meshed in the ¡°correct¡± one. So ¡°two peaks¡± is the operative word. Yes, definitely two peaks. David J. Wilcox¡¯s iPad

Re: Classic QCX C1 fully meshed
Julian, No matter how much capacitance I added the stator plates were exposed about 5% (I am guessing) on either end. That was my two peaks. The caps were from a full set that Doug Hendricks of QRP

Re: QDX - how to best check the filter performance
You're right. I messed up the math when I did it in my head to write that post. Three to six watts IS the correct output of the QDX but the dBm conversion was wrong, oops! Six watts would be somewhere

Re: QDX - how to best check the filter performance
Your lab is far better equipped than mine! That Siglent is a lovely piece of gear but it's way beyond my budget. I use a TinySA and an Airspy receiver for RF testing, just as I suggested in my post,

Re: strange issue with 20m classic; ideas invited
Hi?Bj?rn, Yes, I had thought of that... Were I able to peak the LPF at a lower power, then yes, I would suspect one of the output BS170s, but the most obvious problem at the moment is the difficulty

Re: QDX Surface Mount inductors
Hi Curt This all happened in January 2020 or so which seems like a whole other era ago. So my memory is a bit hazy. But when the PCBs arrived with the SMD inductors on, I noticed that the harmonic

Re: QDX on 60 meters?
John Hans has answered this. It should work, the 40m LPF will be selected, but he did not test. The LPF is optimised for 40m. Harmonic suppression may not be satisfactory so some modification may be

Very nice, John! And don't you hate it when that happens? I can never seem to get the inductors to line up either, and that drives me crazy. Short drive, mind you ;-) More videos published: *** QDX

Re: Classic QCX C1 fully meshed
But.... if you're getting two peaks, that means it is peaking with capacitance to spare, right? So if that is so, what exactly is the issue? Or am I misinterpreting what you're saying? -- Julian,

Re: Classic QCX C1 fully meshed
Hi Dave, Yes, adding capacitance should , within limits, have the same effect as adding turns (inductance). The resonant frequency is 1/ (2* PI ( sqrt( *LxC* ))). In simple terms, the resonant
