Re: QMX+ onboard microphone #QMXplus
I would first test the mics you get.? I also got a mic kit from Eric, and the mic element in it performs very well, with good snr, sensitivity and dynamic range.? But they are very inexpensive mic

Re: (Silly) soldering question #help #kit #QMXplus #solder #tip
Depends on the board. QRPLabs kits use through-plated holes in their board fab, as do most other kits.? In this case, you should solder on whichever side of the board is most convenient,? usually

Re: Elecraft T-1 tuner usage
Using an auto tuner with a QMX at full output can damage the final transistors. As the T1 attempts to find a good swr your qmx will be subjected to high swr. If you use a lower voltage for tuning it

Re: QMX+ onboard microphone #QMXplus
I've ordered two external mics that the forums show work with the QMX+ - from QRPGuys and from Erik AD7OV. Should I still install Han's mic or leave it uninstalled? Thanks, Roy de K2RMA

(Silly) soldering question #help #kit #QMXplus #solder #tip
I've successfully have built many kits, but I always wondered.... I push the thru-the-the board component leads from the top of the board thru to the bottom of the board. I've always wondered, for

Re: QMX+ Power Output
I think you mean Low Pass Filter toroids.? Changing the bandpass toroids will primarily affect receive sensitivity.? ?Adjusting LPF toroids will primarily affect output power and harmonic

Re: Timing confusion U3S #gps #u3s #wspr
I did a complete factory reset and re-entered all the information. I adjusted Sys. Frq. with settings from a spreadsheet i generated some time ago.? Those settings are not used when the GPS PPS is

Re: QMX+ Power Output
Not being able to leave well enough alone I took one last stab at tweaking the band pass toroids. The biggest change came with the 20/17/15 meter coils. I gave up a bit on 15m to increase power on

Re: QMX+ receive current; what's typical?
My QMX+ with QLG3 also draws about 160 mA at 9V. As far as I can tell it is working ok. 73/72 John M0JBA wrote:

Hello, I am hoping I could get some assistance. I am currently building a QMX. I just installed the SWR bridge and I have continuity between all the connections. Is this correct or was it only

Re: RF Amp using the now cheap GaN-FET's
Allison would be far more qualified than I to judge how well a part will do as an RF amp, and I haven't looked for low voltage parts that might be used to replace the BS170. But just looking at the

Re: QMX+ onboard microphone #QMXplus
Thank you for clarifying the STM32 uses a 12 bit ADC. I guessed at 24 bits because of the 24 bit sound card capability. That, however, doesn't nullify my thesis. -Chuck Harris, WA3UQV

Anybody know what those two shiny blobs between R205 and R208 and Q204 and R210 are for? They show up on page 2 of the schematics as JP202 and JP204. Thanks.

Jeff certainly does good work! If you have access to a 3d printer, and don't want to use the pvc supplied in your qrp guys mic kit, I can share the shell that I designed for it. Congrats on getting on
