Re: 3D Printing Source?

Paul,

I have Prusa Mk3 printer.
I can print it for you for free.
You will cover just postage.
Send me the .stl or gcode file.

Ivica, there are several reports in the forum about the same situation. Often the controller was the broken part. Hard to replace and you would need a flashed controller from QRP Labs.
You may remove parts from VDD rail one by one until the fault is gone or check the VDD rail using a good ohm meter with milli ohm resolution.

Re: iFTX

It worked perfectly, I just had to reset the cell phone to take the hardware changes. In QMX it activates the ptt but in the Xiegu x6100 it doesn't because it doesn't have vox!! 73 Luis?

I'll add that I often use iFTx with an iPhone and it works well, with a caveat: Apple places artificial limitations on the iPhone and it won't do CAT control.
?
To get PTT working, you set the QMX to "VOX" as was pointed out earlier in this discussion. You may have to tweak some threshold values on the QMX to make this work smoothly.
?
Further, since there's no CAT control, you have to manually select the band in the iFTx app, and set the band/frequency on the QMX. (e.g.: you set iFTx to 20m band, manually change the QMX to "14.074MHz", the standard 20m FT8 frequency) You can make this less cumbersome by saving all the FT8 and FT4 standard frequencies as on the QMX and just toggling between them.
?
Note that you don't have to adjust this when you change the transmit tone. The app will adjust the tone to whatever you've set (say, "1500Hz"), similar to operating in "Fake It" mode in WSJT-x instead of full "Split" mode.

Carefully assembled section by section, after each section the work was inspected with magnifying glass and dvm for shorts.
?
But it does not start on first power up.
?
Pluged my USB-A to C cable (it is data cable works with other devices)
Adjusted voltage to 9V and current to 200mA and connected to QMX+, no current draw in off condition
?
Pressed the the encoder aaaaand no start, device did not show in file manager neither it showed on dmesg output ( using linux os )
?
Only change that is visible when encoder is presed is that power supply engages current protection at 200mA which i belive is way of just for starting the device.
?
Measured the 3.3V regulator ic input is 5.5V and output when encoder pressed it shows under 1V.
?
On other supply board both mosfet show 8.9v both on input or output pins of them in standby and 5.6v on encoder press.
?
If i understood the start sequence right, processor needs to see 3.3V to start.
?
So any tips where to start looking for error would be welcome.

Re: Qmx+ V1 dodo #QMXplus #supply

Hi
Nothing will happen till the firmware is flashed.
Power up and connect USB cable. You will hear the Windows sound of USB connection.? Look for the QMX as a flash drive. Then drag the unzipped FW to this drive and it will spring to life. Check the display contrast setting.

Good to know that amps data, i started around 150mA and i did move it to 200mA when i started to get pis#!$@ off.

9? vs 12 makes difference for power amp, lucky me i did not get that far Hi

VDD to GND Measures 2.6 ohm :(

VCC to GND Measure over 10k

You have a rev. 1 board? So remove the SMPS boards and other subboards before.
?
?
Yes Rev.1 (V1 titled different hi)
Measureing done on bare mainboard (no front panel, SMPS etc)
?
There were reports about a short from VDD to GND after installing the QLG3.
?
Since i there is no clear instructions when to install QLG module i left that one out for now and tryed the first run without it.

Re: 50 Watt PA with KX3

Thanks, Steve. Always a good reminder. I never give the amp more than 3 watts. I seldom push it to 50 watts out anyway.?

Pwr output dramaticly decrease with higher Freq. from 6 W to 0W, for 160 to 20Mc

I had to replace the BS170. one oft them was defective.
After replacing all 4 BS170 The output Pwr is dramatic decreasing with frequency.? 6W at 160, 2W at 80, 60, 04W at 40, 0.3W at 30 and then 0W on all higher bands. I made a Factory reset and Firmware update. Till now can't find the failure?

Re: Production seems to have slowed significantly

Like any small production line, it can be influenced by local holidays, people getting sick or their families becoming ill, schools/colleges starting the winter semester and other things. Give it a week or so for things to sort themselves out.

QMX+ PA Voltage marginally low

Hello,
I have built up my QMX plus purchased at the Telford rally and have a question to check.
Using a PuTTY terminal to access Hardware tests, Diagnostics, under transmitter; the Voltage (on the PA) is borderline low. This is consistent across all bands.
The build is for a nominal 12V operation.?
Example for 40m operating into a dummy load. The PA voltage reads jumps between 9.7 Red and 9.8 Green, while the input voltage is read as 11.6V or 11.7V. Should I be concerned about this or is about 2V drop over the modulator considered acceptable.
Best regards Trevor G6PSZ

Re: #qdx #qdx

I also changed the lPF configuration for 60m it looks like. I seem to have good results but would like someone else to take a look and verify if there will be any problems with the way I have the filters set up.?
