Re: Qmx damage from fedex
I received a rev. 1 kit a couple of weeks ago right before the change over and it had handling damage. To my best recollection, each board was in its own envelope. C213 & R214 were knocked off and the

Re: Low Audio QDX #build #qdx #transmitpower
Mark, This is the problem, not enough audio. Nothing else causes the flashing. It seems a regular fault with Rpi, and non-PC systems. Previous posts my give answers, most seem to resort to reducing

Re: u4b not transmitting
Hi John, thanks for confirming the command. This is a friend's u4b, that should have been working. Anyway after some further investigation: The SW_SYNTH line is asserted correctly. The TCXO does

Low Audio QDX #build #qdx #transmitpower
Hello All, I purchased and built a low HF QDX and modified it with the JasonKits MOSFET PA. I am to the point of frustration trying to troubleshoot why the radio is not TXing. It seems to receive

Re: Assembled qcx-mini 20m
Paul, I agree with you it looks like its the LO leaking thru ?BUT... 1) He bought this NEW ASSEMBLED. 2) one of the LPF toroids was completely disconnected because of a broken wire solder joint and

Re: Still no output on QMX
Well, I guess I wasn't careful enough. I broke the lead off the Q507. I'll be back after I get a new one installed. Thank you so much for helping me through this point. I'm confident we'll figure this

Re: QDX and QMX+ (soon at least) what is the max safe swr?
This tuner has no bypass.? My antenna is in the neighborhood of 1.3:1 without, I think on both 40 and 20.? Just wondering how far I can push it. Bob KG5GTE

Re: Assembled qcx-mini 20m
There might be several possibilities... * The QMX uses a 12kHz IF (and there's no RF amp to isolate the mixer) so you could be hearing the local oscillator... (if this were the case, there

Re: Assembled qcx-mini 20m
That`s Scott,? was going to try your advise,? but after testing for power output which was 4.9 after repairs to L2 , I found that when turning on the QCX Mini I was getting a signal on my IC-7300

Re: QDX and QMX+ (soon at least) what is the max safe swr?
Sometimes the length of coax you are using will do this.? I recently made a 49:1 for an end-fed half wave and installed the antenna.? I couldn't get it to dip anywhere at all.? I checked the coax

QDX and QMX+ (soon at least) what is the max safe swr?
I looked and found one thread on the subject but did not see Hans give any definite answers.? I know 1:1 is prefered and best, but the real world doesn't often give us that.? I ask because my 4SQRP

Re: QMX High Current draw on assembly. #qmx
I actually misread my PSU's current meter. When a DMM is put in series it matches what the PSU is saying. Around 1.3A, but I couldn't feel a whole amp of heat being dissipated anywhere. I removed all

Re: Still no output on QMX
If I read the tester display right, Q507 seems to be ok. But why is the voltage at G the same as at S? Please check schematics and trace from gate of Q507 to R506 and collector of Q514. Check voltage

Re: How hard would it be to rework the QRP-Labs Receiver board into a Quadrature (up converter) transmitter board?

I will order and replace Q507. But before I do that, I wanted to test it first. I carefully lifted the gate and the source off the board and tested it. The results are below.
