Re: A ¡°pluggable¡± firmware architecture?
Hello Mike I think it's a nice idea but I don't know how to accomplish that in practice. What you're talking about is kind of the old PC "DLL" concept. Native code that has to be in a relocatable

Re: QMX+: The trifilar toroid torture test
I made the wire a bit longer than needed, maybe an inch so I had a bit to work with, then after identifying and aligning the pairs, inserted one pair of wires at a time, kind of "rolling" the toroid

Re: New Build but can¡¯t get firmware to load
With that wire broken, you won't be getting your main 3.3V supply rail, so lots of things won't work. One wire from that inductor should be soldered to the pad right below the notch in the inductor

Re: Possible bug with QMX 1_00_027?
Btw, the cli program Screen works well in xterm as a serial comm utility to interface the QMX.

That worked! Thank you, I was able to get into the terminal, look at all the settings, turn off the rig with the Vol button after selecting exit in the terminal. Thanks!

Re: Plug/Socket inverted
Thanks for the offer. Yes, unfortunately, I have soldered the male 4 pin to the board. ?I¡¯m trying to think of a way to salvage this without desoldering (makes a mess). ?But, I may not have an

Re: #QMXplus Issues with latest firmware 1.00_27 with newly built qmx+
#QMXplus
Hi Chris, What computer and operating system are you using? Have you exchanged USB cables? It may take another try with 1.00_27. I have had to delete old files and re -download once. Thanks, George

Re: Lower band QDX-M options?
Joel, I have a QDX-M here I plan to build for 160m over the winter. I had came up with values for the LPF in Elsie and another online calculator, and then Hans came out with the QMX+. People seem to

Ok. Thanks for the affirmation that the flux isn¡¯t the issue ?while using the jewelers loop, I found this. Mr. Ludwig, could this cause the overload condition? Somehow the wire got pinched or hit

Re: Plug/Socket inverted
I think I have a few 2x4 female pin header sockets in my parts bin. Let me know if you want me to send you one in the mail. Have you already soldered the male pin header to the mainboard? 72 de va3rr

Hello, It seems I did the same thing as Tim and inverted the male/female plugs. I¡¯ve read the mail here, and understand that the two outside plugs are just as happy left inverted. So, now it¡¯s all

Not a short, a distant possibility would be excessive leakage in a very high-impedance circuit.? Not an issue with these kits. You need a solder splash or icicle, or metallic whisker of some kind to

Both the LPFs and non matched load reflect power back to the BS170s.? This chart shows the effect of the LPFs:

Re: Possible bug with QMX 1_00_027?
I think settings are saved when you /turn the radio off/, not remove power! Press the left (volume) encoder until the display has read "shut down", and you'll probably be good! 73, Paul -- AI7JR --
