Gordon,

please follow the description in the Wiki document. Regarding the second point voltage at "+12V" should come up after PWR_ON goes down. Without this voltage nothing will work.
Did you solder both sides of the female pin header to the SMPS subboards?

Re: QMX Low Band - TX problem

G'Day Chris - I will have a fiddle with the Rise & Fall Thresholds.
BUT as I mentioned before, these are Factory Assembled QMX's & QRZ tells me I have successfully worked 210 QSO's through 42 Countries since May....
?
So I don't understand why they suddenly need adjustments..
Absolutely nothing has changed in the setup, not even the location of the radio on the desk.

I think it looks poor because of the very very low signal level of -80 dB(m).

For 60 m and 40 m BPF3 is in use. How are the results for 40 m? If also such a low level the path between L401b 34t end (number L405 in the manual is a typo) across C402 to IC402 pin 13 is suspicious.

Re: QMX Time Synchronisation Bug

Thanks, Hans! And when you are at it, maybe it's also worth to execute GPS time synchronization as soon as a time is being received (if there was not any fix before).
?
It's sometimes hard to get a stable fix, but the time will be already accurate when a bunch of satellites is being seen.
?
For me, it would be sufficient if this could be done just manually, on request, e.g. within the GPS Viewer by (long)pressing the menu button...

Re: QMX+ Rev1 Build Report

Those are great power outputs. How are your toroids looking, all very tight and even, all with turns according to the manual? Would be great if you could take a pic. I'm currently trying to improve my power output.

Thanks Andreas

Noted. I will fix it...

Re: QMX mid band 60m reassignment

On the thoughts on upgrading my license,? I had a stroke and find talking very difficult. I taught myself cw so I can still get on the air without having to use ssb.? I find reading very difficult as well now, and really struggled with getting my head around the intermediate syllabus. I passed first time but I really don't think I could even think of approaching the full exam without things being made a whole lot simpler.?
As a 2E0 I have the privilege of 100w on all bands, save for 60m, but mainly sit at 20w at my qth on my Yeasu ft450d and an eflw through an mfj versatuner. And when out and about 5w qrp all the way.? My rig can't do any more than 100w and I can work the world already, I can't really see the benefit of upgrading further.? ?30yrs ago I may have been able to contemplate designing my own equipment but not now. Too old for that kind of thing,? and frankly if it wasn't for the long lead time Id have hans' team build my kits for me. That said I do get enjoyment out of the build process and have always had good success with the qrp-labs kits ( this will be my 7th)

Re: QMX rev4 60m-15m build TX problem #qmx

Have you enabled Japanese limits in System config?
If you enable Japanese limits, an abnormally large current will flow when transmitting on the 17m or 15m bands, damaging the BS170.

Re: QMX rev4 60m-15m build TX problem #qmx

Dear Ludwig
Thank you for your prompt reply.
That's right,I measured each sweep with a 50 ohm dummy load connected.
I understand that there seems to be a problem with LPF2, especially C516. I will check it later.
I tried remaking T507, but the results were the same.
Thank you for your advice.

Re: QMX WSPR Question

Good catch!
?
Me to just tried the QMX WSPR Beacon feature yesterday for the first time together with the GPS module. The latter worked like a charm.
?
The first thing I had to understand is that I need to transmit only on even minutes, i.e. the start parameter bust be even :-D
?
Output power measured with cross needle, 5.1W on 50m, 4.5W on 17m.
?
But didn't get a single spot and after 30mins it became boring :-/
?
QRGs were 7040.060 and 18106.042
?
Will try again today while monitoring my transmissions with a second TRX...

GI0BIY and OK2BQN were the only ones to show up from this side of the pond and KN4OK still hoping to make it over the pond.
Where are all the nicely build QRP Labs rigs ready to join in for some fun ? Conditions were challenging but just workable.

Come on get on the air. Next chance is the Challenge July 29th.

Re: QMX+ Displayed Voltage Low

What diodes and configuration?? Perhaps you pull more current than they can handle and thus have a voltage drop?

Re: QMX+ Displayed Voltage Low

Have you externally measured the input voltage at the same time as looking at the QMX+ display? Also what does an external measurement show during transmit?

Progrock2 for Atlas210x

Hello All,
?
This is the first time joining a "group" so I am likely going to have difficulties navigating this place for while.
?
I had xtal go bad on my Atlas 210x and its proving to be a challenge to find a replacement.? I am wondering if anyone has been successful using a Progrock2 for this?? The product is intriguing, but I am also certain I do not have the knowledge to figure it out on my own.? Anyone done this before with an Atlas 210x?

Re: QMX+ Power Increasing Question

Hi Dave

I don't think 1W on 6m is normal; are you confident of your power measurement? For example here we use the David NM0S QRP-o-Meter and initially also read low power on 6m; until I read the QRP-o-Meter spec and it said clearly 160-10m hi hi. Then measured using the oscilloscope over dummy load method and got much better results. At 6m, cables, dummy load, power measurement, all matter and could be more inaccurate than at lower frequencies. If you are really sure it's only 1W then I'd recommend checking the board, soldering of capacitors, number of turns on the toroids, and compressing/expanding the turns on the 6m LPF, to peak it.?

Re: New QMX Midband built

I went with 11 turns on both L510 and L513 as suggested by DH8WN and it brought up my 15M power considerably. 11 tight turns on L513 worked fine.
