Re: QMX/QMX+: Steps to safe antenna tuning and powering the unit
I suggest placing a resistive VSWR bridge (I have a QRP-O-Meter) between the radio and tuner.? Set to TUNE position, its 6dB loss will limit the VSWR the radio sees to under 2:1during tuning.? When

Re: Help - VCC too high
Ludwig and others, Ok, still no duty cycle at 10V with bad PS#1. DVM shows 5.3V at 9V in and 6V and 10V in. Replaced with good PS#1 and see screen shot below. DVM reads 5.3V where as Diag screen shows

Re: Wall warts can be fatal to QMX :-(
Whenever I repurpose wall warts, I do it by putting an LM713 supply on the output, or I cut open the case and solder the transformer into a homebrew supply. LM7805 or LM7812 are good, and require

QMX/QMX+: Steps to safe antenna tuning and powering the unit
Being a new to CW and and these transceivers, reading the forums I am a bit worried of damaging the unit when I get it hopefully by the end of June. First concern is powering the unit.? I know it

Re: CW Issues
On your 3rd issue, don't set the offset frequency outside the supported range. For example on the low side it is 600 Hz. The firmware lets you select other values and save but it doesn't take effect.

Re: QMX+
Although the QMX+ is larger than the QMX, it's still a pretty portable size. It's much smaller and lighter than a typical 100W transceiver. If you manage to cram an internal battery and/or an ATU into

Re: QMX MB - Wonky SWR Sweep
Mitch, T507 winding looks correct, assuming the secondary turns count is right. VA3RR's advice is good. Recheck those soldered connections! JZ wrote:

Mitch - I would try hitting all 6 joints with some heat as a first measure. The sharp edges of the toroid abrading the #28 AWG wire is a secondary concern IMHO, given that mix 43 ferrite has a fairly

Re: Wall warts can be fatal to QMX :-(
I'm going to load test a bunch of random wall warts. It's very tempting to repurpose them, but they appear to only provide the rated voltage at close to the rated current (load). So they really need a
