Re: Q: Replacement for BS170?
Hi Jim, I am using 4 x TN0110 in QMX. They are more forgiving by having higher voltage. I am running them at +14V without any trouble. But I am not taking any risk with VSWR higher than 1.2:1 hence

Re: Q: Replacement for BS170?
Jim, I have no source recommendation , just two comments: - TN0110 is identical to TN0106 but with a higher drain breakdown voltage: 100V v 60V - Both have a pinout which is reversed relative to

Re: Q: Replacement for BS170?
In my opinion. I think it is most likely that bad SWR resulting in high voltage transients is probably the cause of most BS170 failures.? The SWR protection may not be fast enough to protect against

Q: Replacement for BS170?
Hi all From searching the messages, I find that the TN0106 is a preferred substitute for the BS170. Yes? No? Where's a good place to get 20 or so ... without buying counterfeits or devices with a

Yes, Ludwig that is an excellent question and one I have been puzzling over as well. I would be much happier if we had an answer to it and full closure. Perhaps we never will. VY 73 OM, JZ KJ4A

Re: #QMX #HighBand #LowPower QMX High-Band Working but with Low Power out #qmx #HighBand #LowPower
Hi John, and One question is open, the path of the fault current. It seems the current didn't flow from 5 V via IC503 through the "hot" BS 170 to GND. All outputs of IC503 were LOW. Via the internal

Roy, my rf scan for 20 m looks similar, 2 peaks (and a weak one). Tweeking it was the best I could get. The differenc between the value at 14,x MHz and the maximum at 10 MHz is only 2 dB or less. So

Hi Jake, I wonder if you have a scope at all? One of those sub ?100 ones on AliExpress would be a useful addition to the shack. I'd start by comparing signals from the 2 encoders, they should be the

I didn't have any success with improving the RF Sweep for the 20M band. I collapsed the last set of windings on L401 as depicted in the manual ... then moved them a bit, spread some apart all while
