Re: QRSS Ultimate Beacon
Hi David,
Yes I adjusted the values of C4&5 to move my WSPR emissions a little
higher. I now have my reported signal at around 10.140122, whereas it was
right at the lower edge of the WSPR band at

The important sentence is $GPRMC, this is the one the kit parses. I'll run
this through with some debug etc

Wrong locator?
I have my kit (firmware) V1.01 connected to a gps today.
It seems it can't get a fix on my locator....
It sets it to JO71, it should be JO21. Anybody else encountered this?
I have set it to a random

Re: 1pps signal level requirements on Ultimate QRSS Beacon
Hi Philip,
I don't have one, but they are on sale from QRP clubs here and in America.
I am tracking my GPS module. Turns out it was in the South of France.
when I ordered it. It is in Paris now.....

Re: 1pps signal level requirements on Ultimate QRSS Beacon
Yes, a very useful post Hans, thank you..
Tony:
What crystal have you got/getting for 40?
I see GQRP sales have a 7.04 Mhz one which should do it
if it will tweak a tad higher...

Re: 1pps signal level requirements on Ultimate QRSS Beacon
Thanks for the info Hans. I have a plan to have a few autonomous

probably share the 1pps signal between them?
Yes, that would work fine
Not so! There is no hand-shaking! The kit reads the TX line coming out of
the GPS, but there is no hand-shaking in the

Re: 1pps signal level requirements on Ultimate QRSS Beacon
Hi Guys,
Actually I think you could use both the NMEA and 1PPS outputs for more than one beacon, but you will need some sort of distribution system. It is quite usual in scientific applications to

the EM-406A does...

Yes. It's the one that Stephen used and it works at 5volts so it will be
easy to sort out with the kit.
Specs here, but I didn't buy it from sparkfun. Mine was only ?23 delivered

Looks a bargain Tony...
Has it got 1 PPS ouput on it, can't see it on the header?
Need another GPS module here for my second QRSS kit (40 meters) that
arrived this morning (thanks Steve)
