Re: Qcx Mini as a 6 Meter CW Beacon
Well Hello, Charles,
I didn't expect to hear from one of my advisers from CWA. I hope you are well. I've been hunting pota activators and often make contact with Allen from our class. CW has become a

Nino,
if you measure the voltage on the control board connector, at the point S on below to
ground on one of the connectors,?you should see:

Re: Suspected faulty rotary encoder QMX Rev 2 80-20m kit build
Hi Daniel
Thanks for your information but I can't still find the fault. I have very carefully checked all connections of the control board and performed an accurate continuity test and all
is fine.

Great to hear you are doing a QRP Labs project, and I hope you have great successwith the 6m beacon.

Re: QMX- High Power Output at 12 Volts?
Hello, I have a similar experience (kit dispatched on 7th December from QRP Labs). Probably the lot of BS170's delivered in the end of 2023 happens to have lower threshold voltage.
The output depends

I really welcome the prioritisation on the keying glitches and AGC Hans, as the former means I tend not to use my QMX currently.
I know you will resolve them, and from my point of view I will then

Re: QMX SWR meter gone mad
Hello, Chris,
it was one of the single-turn wires not soldered properly. Continuity test with a multimeter does not show anything except if it is the first winding being soldered, that's why the

I do run all my QRP Labs radios on this battery.
Wall warts are a problem for these radios IMHO.

Steve,
Pertaining to the RF problems.
I had a bad RF problem a few years ago with my QCX Mini's.
First, I encased the back of my home in lead and remounted the random wire antenna on the neighbor

Nino,
What Hans says makes sense. Here is one of the other possibilities he alluded to.
I repaired a friend's QCX+ with similar issues with his encoder and push buttons. There were two faults. One

Hi, thanks to all !
I have already checked carefully the continuity on the main board between the connector and the MCU (pins 31-91-92-93) and all is fine. Now I will try to bypass

Re: Qcx Mini as a 6 Meter CW Beacon
If you bought it for the right band why wouldn¡¯t it work?
I run a QCX full time as a WSPR beacon. ? Worth keeping the supply voltage down to 9V or so for a better safety margin on PA temperatures

Qcx Mini as a 6 Meter CW Beacon
I just ordered a QCX Mini kit and plan to experiment with it to get it to transmit a 6-meter beacon in the US. Has anyone had success doing this with the QCX kits?
