Re: replaced SMPS cards and the QMX is not detected by win 10 to load the firmware.
Old fashioned fault finding.
ignore the windows detection for now. ?and Look at the circuit. See if a resistance measurement across +to- ?(caution. your meter may not be +ve on the red lead.

Re: replaced SMPS cards and the QMX is not detected by win 10 to load the firmware.
By increasing the current to 1 A the Qmx turned on for about 10 seconds, it
was connected to the PC with win 8 and it was detected, then I smelled a
burning smell and I immediately disconnected the

Hello Roberto
Ross EX0AA has had success using QDX-M http://qrp-labs.com/qdxm built

Re: Bench power supply for QDX, QMX etc
Use what you have and filter it with a Drok buck boost device for $16 USD.
Boost Buck Converter, DROK DC 5.5-30V to 0.5-30V 5V 12V 24V Output Adjustable Power Supply Regulator Module, 4A 35W High

I think this short to a SMA pad can easily hapen if installing BNC too low on

50 MHz kits
Hi all QRPers
I'm a QDX builder/user and want to try 50MHz activity. Any suggestion about transverter or rtx kit?? Any future project from our Guru?

Re: QMX LPF for [40m/30m] - Version 1 measured results
Ryuji,
The response and values that I posted to Tony are OK but better filters are possible. For [40m/30m] this is better:
390pF, T30-6 16 turns, 620pF, (T30-6 13 turns//150pF), 330pF.
The attached

Re: QDX FDT86256 Mosfet PA Modification
Interesting! Have you tested it in the high-band QDX? Does it perform without reduction in power even at 30 MHz?

Hello Jon
Imbalance in the trifilar due to messy winding is one of the factors that
can affect image rejection. But there are also others, component tolerances
is an important one. Generally the

I have been using the?Korad KD3005D for years now. It has all you need for a nice price (Euro 59) and with a real transformer in it (no switch mode power supply).

What bench power supply would you recommend for building kits like the QDX

I would prefer to buy a new product (vs used) and if possible like to keep

Re: QMX assembly successful but no receive or transmit
Kieth,
I am glad that you have the radio working.
For the new kits with SMD components, I have bought two tools:
1 - A hot air rework station
2 - A desoldering tool.
For the first, there are

Actually BS170 Ciss is 24pf. 24x3 = 72pf comparable to FDT86256¡¯s 54 pf is not too off though QCX class E PA caps still might need some tweaking.

Re: QMX assembly successful but no receive or transmit
Oh i see now. That makes sense. The BNC probably was shorted to the sma footprint on the PC board. I only wish I had worked on the BNC connector first. Perhaps T507 was ok after all.

QMX Repair - Anyone Interested?
You may have seen a post I did a few weeks ago regarding my QMX kit. After assembling it I discovered the dreaded short between Q103 and Q104. Power has NOT been applied. It is wired for 12 operation.
