Re: QMX and Pi400?
Cliff, Hans and everyone else,
that is a good point about the Pi400.? I did not know that it was clocked higher than the regular Pi 4.?? The higher clock speed will make a difference.
And I see

Re: qcx ver3 board
Graham,
Hans buried the toroid windings pretty far down the original assembly manual because he was showing newbies (YOTA) how to build and solder. Later he moved to the beginning as it is easier to

QMX #2 for SALE
I have successfully completed a second QMX build. It is for sale as the intended recipient no longer is interested and I don't need two QMXs at this point. (Maybe later for High Band???)

Re: qcx ver3 board
If you do it carefully and right the order doesn't matter.? It is fractionally easier to check some of the windings for in-circuit continuity if in first,? but honestly just do it slowly/carefully

Re: QMX and Pi400?
Hans,
Yes, the Pi400 runs the CPU clock at 1800 rather than the 1200 used in the standard Pi4.
I use it for fldigi as well as Wsjtx. The Pi400 is pretty well maxed out getting deep decoding in

Re: QMX and Pi400?
I am running WSJT-X and JS8CALL on Rpi3 with Raspberry OS. JS8CALL works flawlessly. WSJT-X works fine unless the band is really overcrowded. It decodes about dozen signals when there is obviously

Re: QMX and Pi400?
Hi Marc
It's very interesting... I've never noticed any issues with WSJT-X or
JS8Call on my Pi400. Is it faster than a Pi4?

Re: qcx ver3 board
I followed the book. The only change I've made (and very helpful!!) was to use different color wires for the multi torroid.
Mine was a piece of cake, and still works fine!

Re: QMX and Pi400?
The distro used on the Pi400 could make a difference.
If you're using something like HamPi then it has that BOINC stuff taking over / using up resources
which may slow things down.
And some of the

Re: QMX and Pi400?
I wonder if a workaround would be to narrow the filter when the band is busy so fewer signals get through?? Just to reduce the workload on the Pi to reasonable levels?

Re: QMX and Pi400?
I am using JTDX on a pi 4 4gb That software demands less of the processor
on a slow pc as also the PI 4 then WSJT-x. And when it is busy I put the pi
jtdx software on only cq receiving that is helping

Starting with QCX, the first QRP Labs transceiver, the design of the UI was
such that as Steve says: you could walk up to it and start operating. You
need never go into the menu at all. Just the tune
