Re: Anybody running 6m on QDX?

Jerry,

you should be able to setup 6 meters in the band configuration screen.?

#QMX 3.3V Supply won't come up -- HELP! #qmx

LIN_REG_EN doesn't start at 12 V, it's staying at 0.7 volts, so the 3.3 V rail never gets power and the uP never starts. Pull up is working, no short to ground, on this line.

See?/g/QRPLabs/message/108481,?for the whole story.

Am I SOL?

Kees,
?I believe 470uF 10 V tantalums are also available in 7343, but are 1mm higher.?

Re: Anybody running 6m on QDX?

Assuming that the hardware can work at 50 MHz, how will you change the software to enable 6 m frequencies? ??

Re: Working QDX just lost reception

Does the waterfall change if you disconnect the antenna? Are you receiving anything or just dead?

Reboot the computer?
Good luck,?

Re: Stuck on my QMX build

sorry 9 for sure.? only have a 10mhz scope but the voltages on pcm1804 when splash screen is on are ok on pin17 and 18 but nill on 15 and 16.just checking this out now

Re: QMX troubleshooting

Thank you for bringing up this topic so recently. I helped me in troubleshooting once I found my fried D101. The replacement on Amazon for me is 2 days, but its a good interim fix with the delay on shipping of the new SMPS. I may still order a new board for peace of mind, but try my hand at some SMD replacement in the meantime!

Be well.

Re: Stuck on my QMX build

If you are really using 8, you should be using version 9,? Version 8 was quickly replaced due to issues.? ?

Re: Stuck on my QMX build

Thanks for your help.
Will read hans link shortly, but yes i see 2 files one eprom and other ver8? software, but yes that happens every time there are 2 files and it lets me over write them

Re: Stuck on my QMX build

Mike, check out this message from Hans??/g/QRPLabs/message/105756,?the firmware is not in eeprom but he does have some suggestions on where to look for this problem, maybe L402 47uH inductor

Re: #qmx video: 52 tips for building your QMX successfully #qmx

Hans, I can add one tips:
When installing the input power connector, push it towards the board edge.
This will increase the very small clearance to the left encoder on the control board.
Nevertheless I put kapton tape on the encoder body facing the power connector

Re: Stuck on my QMX build

When you connect to the pc to load the firmware ( now for the nth time) do you see two files already in the QMX ? The system should only go into firmware load mode automatically the first time, then you should have to explicitly request the update, via terminal mode, qmx menu select or by jumper wire.? Seems like the firmware is not being loaded to eeprom.?

Re: QDX Firmware features included on revision

Dr. Pedro,

Once a feature is introduced, it is in all subsequent releases unless Hans notes that it has been removed or changed.? Also, all QDX firmware can be used on any board revision.? I always update to the most recent, even for my Rev 1 board.

I wonder what problem increasing the voltage and potential current draw would solve.

Don't know what the problem is but not sure that getting a bigger hammer will help.

Re: #QMX holy smoke released again, C107 and D108 destroyed #qmx

Does anyone have a scope plot of what the first second of Voltage looks like across C107 when you power ON , do it multiple times ON-OFF, ON-OFF, etc.

470uF 6.3V Tantalums may only be available with a 7343 (LxW) footprint but so are 220uF 16V Tantalums.?

Hi all

The QRP Labs QMX Multimode Multiband QRP transceiver kit is an amazing combination of performance, features and low price in a very compact package. We have at the time of this video production, assembled something like 60-70 QMX transceivers here at QRP Labs Towers. This video contains my observations of some common pitfalls to avoid, and tips for successful assembly.

Some of the 52 tips may be obvious to you, many are in the assembly manual (which of course you will read word to word, cover to cover); but I suspect the majority of constructors will find at least something useful in the video. QMX is a compact build. With care and attention to detail, you should achieve a functioning, high performance transceiver.

I also created a Playlist of official QMX videos (though there are lots of other QMX videos too):

Thank you Ton and Evan. Yes, I noticed it has been introduced in version 1.04 so I'm using it then.

Re: USB Device not recognized .... another one #qmx

Hans has a good picture of the USB-C connector in the video he just posted?
and it clearly shows the the solder wicking between the 16 pins and the associated via barrels as discussed in my previous notes. This is mandatory if you don't want "iffy" USB-C connections over the life of this wonderful product. You may find that the 16 pins on your USB-C connector have a whole lot less solder, or none. You need a solid USB-C interface for all the QMC product improvements and additions. Be careful adding flux and a dab of solder. Take your time.

By the way, the 16 pin USB-C means it is a Rotationally Symmetrical Connector and the plug can be inserted either way.?

Re: [Bug Report] 1_00_009 Bugs I have encountered #qmx #firmware

Hi Hans,
I just performed the suggestion and the QMX still does not power down. I followed your instruction on your most recent YouTube video and did not see a short between q103 and q104. Regardless, I removed D101 and replaced it with a 1n4148 and the problem persists.
