Re: QCX-Mini Tune Control (Rotary Encoder) Issue
Ken a real quick thing to try is a factory reset. Before doing it write
down the values of the Reference frequency and the System frequency so you
can put those back in after the reset to maintain

Re: I completed the assembly of the new QMX
Hi Chris
There's the official hardware diagnostics screen now which presents things
tidily.
Or the secret debug screen I use in development, which presents information

QCX-Mini Tune Control (Rotary Encoder) Issue
I have one of the first QCX-Minis that was assembled by Han's crew in late 2020. I've only operated once for about 30 minutes during a QRP Hotels on the Air at Pacificon 2021 and it worked great. It's

Re: Low power on all bands, QDX high bands, assembled at factory
Yes, it appears to be so. As Willie noted, once you get over the audio threshold (which it clearly does), it's full power out regardless.
I actually played with pavucontrol, btw, but the output was

Re: I completed the assembly of the new QMX
I have already proceeded to purchase both the Q103 and the D101 for
replacement, the problem is restoring the earth contacts. but that's what
I want to do to turn it on as soon as possible.

Re: I completed the assembly of the new QMX
The hot air is probably the best, but I've made work by using low temp solder then moving the iron from leg leg and slightly pressing to the side so get it to slip off. I've also carefully lifted two

Re: I completed the assembly of the new QMX
To remove these devices I wouldn't use a soldering iron at all. Hot air only. First flood the area with some good liquid flux like the Amtech tacky flux I have, then wave the hot air around like a

Re: I completed the assembly of the new QMX
I would be inclined to get a new AOD403 Mosfet and try to repair the board, while waiting for the new one. A little glue and some solder and this could maybe be repaired?

Re: What is the latest on the 20M sensitivity issue?
Option #2 was incorporated into the assembly manual. Make sure you've downloaded the latest 1.00g assembly manual and refer to this page for avoiding pitfalls

Re: What is the latest on the 20M sensitivity issue?
Michael,
Use the latest Assy manual and option #2 has been incorporated as the way to do it so it isn't mentioned as "option 2" any more.

Re: I completed the assembly of the new QMX
hi Paul and Kris and all, I used a normal soldering iron for the pins and
then an air soldering iron but unfortunately it didn't help even if I was
careful, I am attaching some photos 73.

Re: I completed the assembly of the new QMX
Giuseppe--
Question for you: When you broke Q103, what technique were you using to unsolder it? Did Q103 actually break, unrepairably?
I ask, so I can make a different mistake when I try to fix

Re: QMX RF sweeps
My bright idea is very near impossible! The capacitor is too big, difficult to position, beyond difficult to hold in position and is way too big to fit in box if it works. Please see picture.
