Re: How to tell a High-Band from a Low-Band QDX
I use JTDX but maybe wsjt-x is the same. The low band units power up on 40 meters. The High band units power up on 20 meters. Tony AD0Vc ________________________________ Sent: Thursday, July 27, 2023

How to tell a High-Band from a Low-Band QDX
For those of you who think there are no dumb questions ... how do I tell a high-band from a low-band QDX?? There are no markings on the cases and WJST-X happily changes bands from 80m to 10m without

Re: QDX v3 - T203 Xfrmr PCB holes too Small for 0.6mm Wire
The pads are too delicate to be drilled up to the correct diameter.? Also you will lose the plated thru hole solder.? I just wound T203 with 0.5mm enameled and then noticed that T204 PCB holes are

Re: QMX Pulling Current on First Power Up
Don't forget to add that the USB-C connector can be inserted upright or inverted, it doesn't care! No fiddling about, just slip it in. Higher current, too. About power negotiation: No worries unless

High band will be soon, guys... I have 10,000 T30-17 coming from micrometals now! It's gonna take a couple of weeks still though to reach me here in the furthest hidden corners of outer nowhere.

Don wrote "No smoke. No heat effects visible. No discoloration. It's at peace now." That sounds like oxide layer failure. Hit a critical Vdd voltage and it happens in nanoseconds. Crunch! JZ

Re: QMX Pulling Current on First Power Up
Hi Allison, all The USB-C connection in QMX only uses a USB-2 data-only connection. Only three signals are connected: Ground and the USB-2 standard differential pair. No other of the USB-C signals or

Don, I think the diode was probably a victim of some other failure along with the MCU. The MCU absolute maximum Vdd is spec'd at 4.0 volts. My experience is that is a guard banded figure and failure

Re: QMX fried MCU by zener

The MPU is internally damaged. All VDD inputs measure less than 2 ohms to ground. I confirmed this sad fact by individually lifting those pins. The only MPU VDD load is just the VDDA and the VDD bus,

Likely true, there are many limits to available current but then the Zener?even if a 400mW device would die at 120 ma from over dissipation. That's likely to not generate much heat. However the diode
