Sometimes Windows requires you to turn power off on the rig then plug in the USB cable to the computer. Then power up the rig and it will find it. I've seen that almost every time with the QMX. QDX

Ah-- The reference to the modem manager is on page 4 of the /Operations/ manual. The reference to the reset thing is in the assembly manual "manual_1_15.pdf" on page 47. Sorry for the confusion! Paul

Ok, then look if this is windows look in the device manager then ports and see if port is found and see what port device manager assigned it. Then go to putty and make sure the port in putty matches
