It can happen when people switch off their power supply, as the voltage
decays to zero. It appears that if the voltage goes down too slowly the
firmware could corrupt the EEPROM configuration

Phillip, you can share a 1PPS if you use the 1PPS source to drive an RS485 bus.
This is a multi drop bus that you can connect many destinations from one source. the LTC1485 will act as a RS485 TX
