Re: Corrosion on IC pins (QCX+ build)
Thanks, Cliff, for the heads up! This is the plus version but I¡¯ll try to be conservative with the voltage.? I tweaked the BPF a bit more: took a winding off from both L3 and L2 and this gave me more range for adjustment. Now I get about 4.5 W @ 12 V and closer to 6 W @ 13.8 V. These readings are not from a calibrated meter so take them with a grain of salt. Ted, I¡¯m also planning to use the radio with a 4S LiPo battery back and a buck converter. About 12v should be enough for a signal in QRP range. Lower voltage also gives the buck converter something to work with.? |

LED2 ?
I received a new 20-80 Rev 4 QDX some weeks ago and now have time to place it in a case.
It is a built and tested unit direct from QRP-labs. It is a 12v unit that I am running at 9V. Power on -- I see .13 A. LED1 fast blinks while loading code then constant LED1 and LED2. I am guessing I should not have an LED2. I am able to use PUTTY to access the settings options. What should I lookfor before I slide this card into the case? John |
Re: Balloon over Canada
I'd like to see the Air Force poke a few holes in it and after it lands, see what it was actually doing. Personally, I think it was delivering paychecks to Joe and Hunter...but that's just a guess. ![]() Jack, W8TEE
