Re: No WSPR contacts on 15M #15m #wspr #u3s

I also have just started using my 40, 20 and 15 m QCX+-Mini radios on WSPR.
I get lots or reports on 40 and 20m for about 8 hours until the internal clock goes too far out of sync (no GPS here).

I also have not yet got any reports on 15m after a few hours attempting to do so.
Will change frequency and try again and let you know.

Running about 1W output using 8VDC input.

Re: QCX+ 160 up and running

I tried to adjust the QRG by modifying the 27 Mhz and the correction was very different from what I expected. RBN may not be the perfect reference but RBN was indicating .2 higher.
In order to get that down I went from the initial 27004 to 27007. Now RBN is spot on. So at least I am closer to the true QRG. Strange I had to go up to make the QRG go down.

So one thing fixed.

Apart from CAT still S Meter and Decoder to be fixed. Decoder actually it gives a row of Ts. I would have expected it to decot?de at least my transmissions. C 40 not yet verified, too lazy to open the housing,? to poke the developement board out and measure.

Re: No WSPR contacts on 15M #15m #wspr #u3s

I tried a different frequency with better results.
21,096,140.
Much better. That is very interesting.

No WSPR contacts on 15M #15m #wspr #u3s

I completed my U3s and I am getting contacts on 10M, 20M, 40M with pretty good distance.
For some reason 15M is hardly working. I measured power with a simple watt meter.
The relay clicks.
Not sure what the issue is. 15M setting is 2]? 2? 021,096,055

Any ideas? FIlter incorrect maybe?
I have the following filters
position 0 - 80M
1 - 10M
2 - 15M
3 - 20M
4 - none
5 - 40M

Thanks

Been there, done that myself. It was my second of the original QCX's that I built. Both were in a die cast box and had off board controls. First one was for 40m and worked perfectly. Did the same again with a 20m kit and managed to wire up the key socket so it was turning the Tx on. Had me baffled until someone on here gave me a nudge in the right direction.
Continuous loud tone when trying to do alignment and rotary encoder didn't work.... could be the same problem

Re: QDX Go Box Build

As I don't possess the greatest test equipment, I used resistance to set 9.1 volt at 2 amp load as seen on my buddipole power mini.? Surprising as it may sound, voltage remains very consistent and I haven't let angry smoke out of the QDX yet.

Re: QDX Go Box Build

When you adjust the voltage on the buck converter, at what load do you set the voltage, since there is such a swing between Rx and Tx load. I am very skeptical of using buck converters because there is essentially no voltage regulation, especially when there is > 15x load swing between Rx and Tx.,

Re: QDX Go Box Build

Here is the USB buck converter I use, seems pretty stable(top picture).

Here is the buck converter I used for QDX, needs adjustment for 9 volt output. Needs a load on it during adjustment to be accurate (middle picture).

I also used a laptop screen in a dry box for uBITX and raspberry pi..? I bought a hdmi control based on info on the back of the laptop screen through Amazon.. works pretty good.??

Re: 10m QCX L4 and T1 windings #qcx

Jeez, I love these little rigs.? Have classic, minis, and just completed QCX+ for 10M.? Thought I would add specifics
of my build and a picture.? First, as noted elsewhere, you order the 17M version on the website, and request the
10M LPF components be included instead of 17M. Then let the solder melt. I build boards across 3 days, and
then inspect, final install, align on 4th day. Worth noting and seen in picture is my socketing of Q1-Q6 devices, for
easier repair from future blowouts (knock on wood).

My build used the caps included in the 10M LPF bag with the following for inductors:
L4?? -? 8T ? ? ? ? ( I had tried as high as 12T, and worked down. Evenly spaced out on toroid)
L1/L3 10T?????? ( I had tried 9T and 11T on L3, but ended back at 10T.? Spread out around toroid)
L2? - 12T???????? ( I had tried 11T & 13T but ended at 12. Pretty closely spaced- scrunched up)
C30 ? ? ? =? 30pf
C27,28? = 56pf
C25,26? = 150pf
T1- 18 3-3-3

Final tuning netted output of 4W - 28.060 from a 12V LiFePO4 battery. Foolproof diode D3 installed.

I like the more spacious build with the QCX Plus, and would like to suggest on any future circuit board
revisions that Hans might space the pin outs for the PA section to align more exactly with SIP DIP
gold plated sockets. At present, a strip of six pins will not fit the holes for the linear row of driver and
BS170s. (maybe 1-2mm additional spread would have them fit perfect. I had to split into 3's and file down
edges with fine sandpaper which is working now.

Also on the subject of the LPF, it would be nice if the filter could be built up on a plug in board, and
plugged into sockets as done for the U3S kit. This would save damage to main board, as one experiments
with LPF components.?? At worst then, if you screwed up a pad, you'd just need another $5 LPF kit. vs
whole new board kit. Seems to be space in that section of circuit board.

Off to make inaugural QSO..........

Hi All….I too ha problems a long time ago with fedex on a delivery from the USA…It took six months to receive the customs duty from them…but there was no hassle from their subsiduary…unfortunately postal takes eight weeks to get here from Turkey…just love this group 72/73 Duncan VE6QRP

Hi Brian, all

That post was written in 2010. It's not exactly current affairs in 2022...

I wondered if this was all something to do with 1st April.?

Re: #FedEx Deliveries into Germany via Hannover Airport #fedex

My experience with Turkish and German postal was good. FEDEX is not always required!? There must be a good working relationship between the oostal services of the countries I guess. Another amazing postal delivery was from China. The China exporters knew just how to use the postal delivery. So I think before Hans started TNT it was OK!??

Any chance you are stuck in transmit? The tone could be the sidetone you hear while in transmit. And, the frequency won't move during transmit, I know. One time, the shorting bar on my key was closed, putting me in transmit and fretting how I could have screwed up the rotary actuator.?

Thanks David but Colin has one to me in the mail already.

You guys are the best.? I'll keep all my spares in case someone needs them in the future.

Thanks to all.

Re: QDX Go Box Build

Looks nice Brad, can you tell us the model number for your display so I can check out the resolution? Also, how do you drop the voltage from the battery voltage to the RPi?

Thanks, Gene, K5PA
