Re: No Display....no operability

Side note: are replacement processors available? ?Will Hans read this exchange? ?Thanks. ?

Re: No Display....no operability

Ok will do. ?It was fully operational two weeks ago, and was purchased "Built", and not as a kit. ?I just sat down after pulling the cover and checking to see if the long 26-pin chip was seated properly as directed in the builders' manual. ?But, at your suggestion I'll open it ?again and see if there is any chance that the front panel connections appear OK. ?This is a real mystery.....and honestly, quite disappointing as I have a trip planned in a week and really hoped to take this radio along. ?Dang. ?Thanks. ?

Re: QDX
I am still waiting for my order #50000 shipping confirmation.? I have the PayPal email confirming payment at 1:02 CST (1802Z).? It may be that because I ordered more than one for our build club that the quantity is causing the delay.? All good things take time, as long as it is not next year ;-)

That single row of rectangles means the display hasn't been initialized, and is consistent with a non-functional processor. I suggest you first check all connections to the front panel, and make sure the processor is fully seated.

Re: display jig quite dim

Is this a Mini? If so, be VERY careful with wiring and using the extender, because it carries 12V for the display. If you accidentally short the 12v pin against an adjacent pin, it will almost certainly take out the processor and the display.

No Display....no operability
#40m
Well , Crap!!! I have not used my new little QCX+ 40M in two weeks. Just connected it to my regular trusty power supply and a proven antenna....and this is all I get. No display, no menu, no tuning...... Anyone have any ideas what's going on? It's been stored totally disconnected on my desk. I'm stumped.....
Thanks in advance. 73 AG5GW

Syd that short length of wire will make no difference. Make sure you have good connections and all the pins go to the correct other end points. It will work. I've extended these things 10" away with?no issues... Syd, the 20 meter filter almost always needs L3 to be one or two turns less than specified and expanded somewhat. You can verify this by expanding the turns on L3 fully and if the power is still increasing when fully expanded, then remove?one turn and continue. Don't remove more than 2 turns. L2 is usually as specified ?but compressed and L1 is usually as specified but expanded somewhat. The 40 meter filter almost always comes really close with the specified turns. So if your 40 meter one is not working right, ie. very low power and no changing, then you need to check the soldering and do a continuity test from the BNC connector center pin to the C29 end of L3 and fix any open connections you find. It's a good idea to do this check on both of them. Hope that helps .. 73 .. Re: QDX
I think I was done with checkout about 2.5 minutes in.? I was hoping one of the receipts (QRP Labs and PayPal) would say exactly when because it would be interesting in a useless sort of way, but they were both processed the next day.? Good deal though.? Most of you will beat me on the air with it anyway.? ?I am busier than a one armed paper hanger, whatever that means.? Enjoy.? Pictures or it didn't happen on Friday when you get yours.? Fred W0FMS? Re: QDX shipping update
Thanks, Hans!? BTW, for those in the US who really want a tracking number the USPS will notify you of ANY package on its way to you if you sign up for an account (and validate it) and enable that service. They don't tell you any of the details (like who the package is from) but those can be looked up on their web site.

Hi Richard, Following sketch file needs GPS fix even for JOIN request due to geofencing: But the following sketch file does not require a GPS fix for JOIN.? Also you can use the following variable to transmit without a GPS fix. boolean gpsFixRequiredforTX = true; //By default GPS fix required for telemetry TX (but not required for OTAA join) On Wed, Oct 27, 2021 at 2:49 PM Richard Fairman via <Fairman.richard=[email protected]> wrote: Looks like my local hotspots are offline --
