Re: QMX and power bank PD

Hi?
I found and using this
5/9/12 (15/20(for the PC) if the PD of the Power Bank Supports)
9 and 12 volts are great for the QDX, QMX and QMX+
Buy the one with 5.5 x 2.5mm plug

Re: QCX+ TCXO

Hi
If you connect QCX to GPS,
you can (it will) precisely adjust frequency of the QCX for the TXCO
This was implemented for WSPR on QCX
If you leave the GPS on,
you'll have an atomic clock/frequency standart :)

True Bruce,

I was going by the marking on the QRPLabs TCXO, "KXO-84 RG" which matches the Geyer part.

Unfortunately digital stepped adjustment TCXOs also do not state what they are.

Re: QMX+ no power output, low SMPS bias current

Did you remember the loop between the bnc and the output from the swr bridge ?

Rick,

Wolfgang was showing us his QMX, no + :-)

Perhaps left for those with good soldering skills and steady hands.

Pierre,

It looks like this one

QMX WSPR Anomaly

I was trying out WSPR with my high band QMX with settings as depicted in the instruction manual. I had my QLG2 attached and working with the green light blinking. I had the transmit set to 4 after the hour as in the instructions, and when that time arrived, the rig kicked into transmit mode. All appeared to be going with when the display suddenly changed to read the following: 14,097,140 CW 5 0 On the next line: VK4JAZ QG62 30.
?
And there it remained, as if stuck. After a good few minutes I shut it down as nothing appeared to be happening.?
Any ideas what this means?

QCX+ TCXO

Just to satisfy my curiosity : which TCXO chip comes with the QCX+ TCXO option?

Re: QMX and power bank PD

Most all recent USB-C power banks support PD, so it is likely to work.
?
I would get a smaller/lighter one.? I have two small 10,000mAh Ankers, and each is good for several hours of QMX operation.?

QMX+ TCXO frequency

Just retried a change of tcxo frequency down by 6 Hz. As before it did not work...audio connectivity was lost and had to do a master reset to get it back. Very annoying as have to customise? my rig over again. Yes running the 003 SSB firmware.
There were other weird symptoms but won't "muddy the water" describing those.

QMX+ no power output, low SMPS bias current

I finished assembling my QMX+ (including a battery mod) and finally got the chance to test it.? In the diagnostics everything appears to check out, until I press P.? At that point the SMPS bias current for every band is ~4.6mA (where the PIN forward bias is 30mA).? If I press T (while connected to a dummy load), the RF output and the Transmitter Voltage turn RED, with the Voltage reporting ~9.5-10.0V.? Power is consistently listed as 0.0W, and the SWR (into the 50 Ohm dummy load) is all over the map.
?
Any ideas what I did wrong?? I've looked at all of my soldering connections multiple times and don't see any bad joints or bridges.? I've checked everywhere I can think of for continuity, and everything has checked out so far.

QMX+ Squeal: FIXED

Fat fingers did it again…
Accidently turned on the Two Tone Input. ?Changing to Ext Mic fixed my problem!
Sorry for wasting a little bandwidth….
See you QMX SSB!
Mike

Re: QMX+ SSB Squeal

Hi Bill,
No not the mic. The QMX+ is transmitting the tone to a nearby receiver. ?Not a feedback issue. ?I cannot hear any voice at all.
Mike

Re: Tariffs?

Ah yes, thanks Pierre. Very enlightening.

Mike,

??? When you press PTT, You hear a squeal *FROM THE MIC*???? And yet you're getting good transmissions??? Something about that doesn't make sense to me.

???? Can you explain the issue in more detail?

SSB configurations are the same in all 3 radios..
