Re: U4B usb micro connector?
Did you RTFM? 73 Jim N6OTQ On Sat, May 18, 2024 at 5:02?PM Robert Rabin via <r.rabin=[email protected]> wrote: Hello, I just received a U4B Tracker.? I do not see a port where a USB-mini cable can be connected. There is a metal box with a white plastic piece in the center (see photos). Is this a cover which should be removed? |
Re: New LB QMX RF Sweep Analysis

To lower the the pass trough you should increase the inductance. If possible spread the turns more over the whole toroid.Jim, you could try to tweak the BPF winding of L401 in the same way. It seems there is room on the toroid. Start with the highest band and with the part of the winding in use for all bands (the part direct connected to Q508, "0 - Start" I think). 73 Ludwig |
Re: New LB QMX RF Sweep Analysis
I have to admit something - I was not understanding how the results of the RF, LPF, and BP sweeps are to be interpreted. On the RF sweeps I was especially confused. I thought that the very low reading on the left side of the sweep was the bottom of the band. I did not realize that there is a vertical "line" displayed where the default band frequency is measured. Big difference! So, in my case it is not simply a case of RTFM, it is also UNDERSTAND TFM.
Well, it looks like one of those "It is what it is" situations. the windings for 20/30 meters on L510 and L513 cannot be spread any more than what they are; the turns are evenly spaced around the entire donut - photo attached. Those are the pair on the right side. I did squeeze the turns on L401 and that made a slight change with the RF Sweep. Results are: 80m -10 60m -2 40m -2 30m -5 20m -8 Not worried about 80 meters because my 80 meter antenna is not so good anyway and with only five watts (or less) I might as well transmit into a dummy load. There was a slight improvement on 20 meters, from -9 to -8. So it appears not much else I can do without major surgery that might harm the other bands. -- Jim / K7TXA Eagle, ID SKCC 10447T BUG 301 |
Re: QMX encoder question
Hello, Steve I cannot say for QMX, but I tried Bourns 32 and 64 clicks per rotation with QCX and they worked well. But would not recommend to install more than 64 as it looks to fast for QCX/QMX. Current firmware of QMX have some kind of freezing after small steps. It looks like saving something in background and very high ppr encoders might not work as expected. |
Re: Finished QLG2
That last question requires a look at my second picture:
The single round hole is for power in. The dual nine pin serial port is not connected to anything. I drilled the hole for the SMA coax connector. So, I guess the question should have been, "Does Hans supply a different rear plate with the WSPR kit?" Here is a picture of the GPS clock in operation: -- 73 Karl KI4ZUQ |
