Re: QMX+

Has anyone figured out an effective and sturdy way to add 12V of battery power under the larger covers ?

QMX Digital not transmitting

My QMX works great on CW but the Fldigi does not transmit as installed on my Evolve Windows 10 laptop.? The Fldigi DOES read the frequency display OK including showing the two tones of the RTTY I was trying to get going.? It does not have any output at all on as shown on a separate receiver.? I checked Hamlib and used the Kenwood TS-440S for the rig.? I tried it also using VOX setting on but still with no success.? The only thing that looks strange is there is no voltage on either of the PTT outputs during CW transmit.? I think one pin is used to source the voltage to an external amp and the other is to sink current from the external amp.? Before I go digging into what I had hoped was a finished QMX is there any software or something else I might be doing wrong?? Thank you.? Jim Ford N6JF

Hey Mushin,

Do you have a pic of the enclosure and front panel?

Easier in some ways, harder in others. More toroids to wind for sure!

Nice catch! I initially forgot to install the spacer but realized the issue once I inserted the enclosure as the right switch was too low.?

Thank you for the video. There it seems as if you had not put the spacer on the controls board...
Building one now!

Re: Antenna tuner companion for QMX? #qmx

SBJ... if someone can't fit an SMA connector to a cable they shouldn't call themselves a radio ham and should give up this technical hobby and start stamp collecting or such.

That Krait Technologies KT-005 looks really good, except the SMA connectors. ?They would require adaptors for BNC on both connectors unless you have custom cables, and there is insertion loss.
I wonder if they¡¯ve chosen SMA due to the form factor, or whether they could be retrofitted with BNC?
Very cool looking tuner, regardless.

Thank you! Because it wasn¡¯t included in the mid band instructions I went without it and it seems to be functioning properly without the ground. That photo is from my low band build.?

Re: QMX+

"Minutes" was his prediction: as soon as he could flip the switch on the website. He's selling them there at FDIM, too.

I didn't realize the QMX only came out one year ago this week. And he's sold over 4000 of them. From his home. Wow.
