Re: IQ Output Question
Hi Jim ? ?I'd like to have QMX send IQ info to an RSPdx SDR. But it appears they both use the USB port. Is there any way to have my cake and eat it too, as they say? If you enable IQ on the QMX, what happens to the CAT data - no longer sent, or interspersed? ? Yess, you get to have your cake and eat it. The QMX implements a virtual USB Hub, with two devices?connected; USB Audio and USB Virtual COM Port. To you get audio and CAT at the SAME time.?Nothing is lost.? ? ?By the way - wondering if IQ is even working - if I enable it in the DIGI menu, exit from Menu and then go back in, IQ has been disabled. Bug, or not yet implemented? I don't see that... I don't know what happened to your setup to cause that, but it's working OK for me here... I just tried both on the terminal and on the QMX itself. I suggest perhaps you should try a Factory Reset, dare I say it.? 73 Hans G0UPL |
IQ Output Question
On my QMX Rev 2, I connect to MacLoggerDX (MLDX) on my Mac Mini via the USB connection - works great. Also use it to run WSJT-X occasionally - also works great.

Yes, if you want it on another device, you can go IQ out to many different SDR programs to get a waterfall. Re: Battery voltage display bug in fw 1_00_016
Thanks?Ronan I will try to study this peculiar issue.? 73 Hans G0UPL On Mon, Feb 12, 2024 at 12:04?PM Ronan Cantwell <ronancantwell@...> wrote: Quick update: Turning the CW decoder off restores the updates to the battery voltage display, but enabling it again returns to the previous frozen state. |
Battery voltage display bug in fw 1_00_016
There seems to be some interaction between the battery voltage display (set to Voltage), the CW decoder, and the Pwr/SWR display. When all three are enabled, the battery voltage stops updating after a while.?
I initially thought this was triggered by changing the update interval of the Pwr/SWR display, as that's when I noticed it, but it happens without changing that setting at all. Once the voltage display has frozen, it stays that way even after power cycling.? Only a factory reset clears the issue. Not exactly critical, but it would be useful to be able to see the battery voltage again.... Cheers, Ronan MM0IVR? |

Hi Yannig,
the coax was 3m long, made of RG174 cable. So, may be this is the culprit. I had another 4m long hyper flex cable, but I did not tried it unfortunately. Yes, I can try to add a counterpoise, and see if this disappears. Hope it will, because QMX was again a joy to operate. Thanks. Any other suggestion, folks? Joan - EA3IKB |
Re: OCX-Mini & Straight Keys
Hi Dan Use of a mono plug IS supported. QCX/QMX transceivers do not require a stereo plug for the key. Of course a mono plug shorts the "ring" connection to ground. But this is solved by setting the Straight key mode parameter to "tip" only, so the system will then ignore the "ring" which is permanently grounded by the mono plug.? 73 Hans G0UPL On Mon, Feb 12, 2024, 1:33?AM Daniel Walter via <nm3a=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: QMX Digital Modes Bug
Testing with FT8CN and AndFlmsg was successful.
Further testing with FLDigi and FLRig with QMX in VOX mode, The brief transmit burst then unkey continues, If i disable PTT in FLRig then the VOX PTT is successful and CAT frequency, Mode and RF gain is functional. Conclusion: There appears to be a conflict between the VOX PTT and CAT PTT, even when VOX it turned off. Also noticed that the "Minimum Cycles" setting ( in Main Menu/ Configuration/ Digi Interface ) keeps jumping around. It was set at 1 now it shows 131074 73, Kevin K3TL |
