Re: QMX+ goes into safe mode with antenna tuned to 1.5 SWR
Kevin, Check to make sure that the solder connections on the LPFs components (especially torroids) are all good, checking continuity.? If the RF is not making it to the antenna jack then there will

Did you install the jumper in J501? Sounds like it may have been missed Ron [email protected]> wrote:

QMX+ goes into safe mode with antenna tuned to 1.5 SWR
Just finished my QMX+ and I have noticed 2 things: First the radio is deaf,? I can here the standard background noise, but I can not hear any CW even though I am tuned to a frequency that I know has

Re: 40-10 qmx
If you follow the instructions on the AI6XG website, you will see that you will have to modify the band configuration table, as it is a departure from the 3 possible QMX configurations that come with

Re: 40-10 qmx
I had decent luck with the modifications described here, you need to be a bit careful on the harmonic content and the band config; iirc I had better luck with a slightly different low pass config -- I

Re: 40-10 qmx
Hi Jack Maybe endorsing it would be taking it a step too far. But certainly QMX was designed to allow this kind of experimentation; the Band Configuration screen (currently only available on

40-10 qmx
Hi all! I want to build a qmx with at least 40, 20, and 10m bands. This is not currently an official build and I was wondering if it is recommended or indorse by Hans. I know that it is possible and

Re: QMX CW issue, omits dits
Michael, I don't know if this is your issue, but if you have used any of the "Iambic A" keyers with anticipation, then you will lose dits/dahs, as the Iambic A mode in the QMX has no dit (or dah)

Re: WSJT-X Download
Glad you got it working! I definitely went through a good hour of despair myself when I first got my QMX+ thinking something was wrong with the serial connection, then stumbled on an old reddit thread

Re: QMX/QMX+ internal Transmit Voltage measurement question
Thank you for the clarification and description, Hans. I probably should have left the 'calibration' reference out of my post. What I still don't understand is this: - I measure 11.22V at the drain

Re: QMX CW issue, omits dits
Yes as Stan said. There aren't any known issues with the CW keyer. As far as I'm aware the behavior accurately mimics the original Kurtis keyer chip. In the early days of QCX there were some problems

Re: QMX/QMX+ internal Transmit Voltage measurement question
Thanks Tony I agree, there do appear to be several, or at least one, mystery here. It warrants further investigation. Again though, not related to SSB calibrarion so don't worry about that. 73 Hans

Re: QMX CW issue, omits dits
Highly unlikely. I have heard many others report excellent keyer performance, even at higher rates. And while I'm far from a CW expert, I have never noticed any malfunction of the keyer. So I'm

Ugh. Diagnostic screen says 7.5, not 1.75. Tony ________________________________ Sent: Tuesday, April 15, 2025 10:05 AM To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [QRPLabs] QMX/QMX+

Here is a link to a photo showing me holding T in the diagnostic screen while displaying the DVM reading at the drain of the modulator. The diagnostic screen says 1.75, the DVM says 8.62. Supply is 9

Re: QMX CW issue, omits dits
I have the exact same issue with the cw keying on my QMX+.? I have changed all the variable parameters for the CW keyer to no avail, as it misses dits. I have resorted to using an external K1EL USB

Re: QMX/QMX+ internal Transmit Voltage measurement question
You have a point. I measured as I said with key down. But , separately, looked at the TX voltage in the diagnostic screen while holding the T key. I assumed that the two were equivalent TX conditions

Hi Tony How could you measure in TX Key down with speed zero, if you were in the Diagnostics screen viewing the voltage? 73 Hans

Re: QMX/QMX+ internal Transmit Voltage measurement question
I measured during TX, key down with speed set to zero. Tony ________________________________ Sent: Tuesday, April 15, 2025 8:49 AM To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [QRPLabs]

Re: QMX/QMX+ internal Transmit Voltage measurement question
I measured the TX voltage at the drain of the modulator with my DVM during transmit and I get a value within a few tenths of supply. This is in CW mode. But the diagnostic display still says TX
