QMX - no power
Hi All. After 8+ months, and 2500+ QSOs, a sad day here today as my QMX will not power up. Pressing the left encoder doesn't turn the rig on. I have taken it apart, and not seeing anything obvious,

Re: Q: Replacement for BS170?
Hi Evan, A few months ago you had observed that the BS170 failure rate on QMX was far less than that on QDX, and had suggested that it was testimony to the efficacy of wave shaping on QMX preventing

Current Limited Power Supply recommendations #building #qdx
Hello, I recently ordered what would be my first kit and have read some on making sure I use a current limiting power supply when testing.? I was wondering if others could recommend a supply.? I

Re: Q: Replacement for BS170?
All, The issue with the QDX is it does not have a key shaping function.? Because of that, there is a very large voltage spike at the abrupt end of the transmission cycle due to the magnetic field

Hi Roy The photos are on here: https://qrp-labs.com/qmx/qmxtrouble.html Note that Rev 2 and above boards already have the 5.1k resistors. 73 Hans

Re: QMX USB-C compatibility - improved via ugly hack
I'd like to add the 5.1k resistors to my V1 QMX, but for some reason the "attached photos" of mods that folks have done in this thread are not visible to me. Can someone post a photo of their

Re: Q: Replacement for BS170?
I bought the TN0110s from Mouser. TN0110N3-G-P002 IIRC there was no real difference in the suffixes that mattered. Same leads, etc. I've never seen anything official on putting Zeners on the finals

Re: #QMX #HighBand #LowPower QMX High-Band Working but with Low Power out #qmx #HighBand #LowPower
Roy, Neither Ludwig nor I can figure out where enough power was coming from to heat your BS170. You saw approximately 100mA excess current in RX. Your diagnostic screen showed 0.6V applied to the

Re: SOLVED: QMX Receives but does not transmit
Just tested and no, with firmware 017 RTTY still does not work. Also Olivia and Contestia do not work either. Back in firmware 006 they all worked. 73, Cliff, AE5ZA

Re: SOLVED: QMX Receives but does not transmit
Was this issue with RTTY in fldigi not working on QMX ever fixed? I was playing around with it appears to transmit for a little bit then stops. I have tried with and without the TXid.

Re: #QMX #HighBand #LowPower QMX High-Band Working but with Low Power out #qmx #HighBand #LowPower
I analyzed the shorted BS-170 with a Peak Atlas, and it showed that the component was a Zener diode (and not a transistor since gate & drain had an internal short). Could current have been flowing

Re: Q: Replacement for BS170?
John, Bojan, You are both right, and I mis-spoke (also mis-searched). It was the TN0110 ... but ... which suffixes? Does it matter? If not, where should I buy from, if not DigiKey? Price matters,

Re: Rotary Encoder Issues #help #problem #qcxmini #qcx-mini #rotary
Jake, the encoder itself in your QCX Mini is very rarely bad. That could be the issue, but I rather suspect a bad solder joint, particularly a ground joint since they require the most heat for a good
