Re: QMX - possible battery drain?
Hi Peter In that voltage range the 3.3V circuits are active and the CPU is running and drawing power. It is trying to bring up the 5V rail. However the voltage is not high enough to do so. Therefore

Re: PCB 1 and 2 Again!
Good point, I think I saw something that says it isn't in the boot code but is in the downloaded firmware.? That would make sense.? I'll check once I've got my QMX assembled (It arrives today,

Re: PCB 1 and 2 Again!
Hi Kees Yes the 3.3V linear to SMPS handover occurs, about 1/4 second after power up. As usual. IF all is well. 73 Hans G0UPL http://qrp-labs.com https://buymeacoffee.com/g0upl

QMX - possible battery drain?
Hello Hans, i think I may have came across a small design flaw in the soft power switch circuit. Before I start, I would like to point out it is a minor thing and most people, if any, will never be

Re: QRP QDX low audio output
Touching L12 seems to increase signal.? I rechecked all the soldered joints on L12 without any change, but there is an 20dB increase.? Would this suggest an issue with IC3?

Re: PCB 1 and 2 Again!
Chris, I would still like to have Hans verify the 3.3V Linear Regulator to 3.3V SMPS handoff is implemented in the current Firmware. ..............especially with the higher current measurements seen

Re: QMX build - in trouble already...
Phil, Sure you can do the rework. L504 is an RF Choke to keep the RF away from "TX_BIAS" and "VCC", yet allow DC currents/voltages to flow. Need more magnification to assess the connection, but a

Re: #QMX - 40/60m diagnostic issue and #troubleshooting #qmx
Found the issue, turned out to be a dry joint on L512.? Redid the solder, did a few final checks and new diagnostic sweeps looked ok. Not long after fixing I had my first qmx cw contact on 40m! d

Re: PCB 1 and 2 Again!
Before the processor is active R101 will pull LIN_REG_EN high which turns Q102 on and this will enable the linear regulator. Q111 is off to stop the SMPS getting involved and Q110 is on to provide a

Re: QMX build - in trouble already...
Thanks to you for the explanation. I¡¯m not sure I can do the rework if in fact the pads and/or inductor are shot. But if I have no TX then I¡¯ll know at least one reason why it¡¯s not working. I
