Re: QCX-mini repair question BNC connector #qcxmini #bnc #parts
I had a similar problem.? With metal snips I cut off the circuit board corner where the BNC went, enlarged the case hole to fit a regular BNC and soldered wire from the lead to the center pin

Re: What to do when the moderator is busy working VK* on 20m. #qdx
Hi Tony Hi hi, yes you are right, I was having a nice chat with VK5CZ. I think it's the 4th time I've QSO'ed with him on JS8 with my QDX at 5W to OCFD antenna. He uses 50W and a simple dipole at his

Did the last message have a picture attached to it?? If so, it doesn't come up in my browser.? I have been able to follow most of the description of the circuit from the text but a picture of the

QCX-mini repair question BNC connector #qcxmini #bnc #parts
I recently built the QCX-mini 40m kit. Being new to kit building, I couldn¡¯t be more thrilled that it works! However, I applied too much heat soldering the BNC female connector. The center pin comes

Re: QDX with Bluetooth? #qdx #bluetooth
I connect the QDX to a raspberry pi that is running WSJT-X. The pi is headless and managed from my phone using VNC. Since the pi and QDX are at the base of the antenna during field use (and battery

What to do when the moderator is busy working VK* on 20m. #qdx
Thanks for letting me into the group @Hans. I was the source of the JS8 message reminding you to approve new members. ;7) My QDX V3a is more or less working. I need to adjust L12 to resonate at the

QDX burned on start-up
Yesterday evening I finished building my QDX and was quite proud of myself, for it was the first 'real' soldering project in ~8 years. I already realized how old I have become when I needed a 20x

Re: QDX: Receiving great but needs more audio output gain in order to xmit for more than 250 milliseconds.
Hi Bill, In addition to what Hans stated, if you have the three flashes and the transmission stops, that could be an RF feedback problem.? Try transmitting into a dummy load using the terminal

Re: QDX: Receiving great but needs more audio output gain in order to xmit for more than 250 milliseconds.
Did you turn off all audio processing and other special audio features in Windows? Things like echo cancellation will remove continuous tones like FT8, for instance. 73, Willie N1JBJ

Re: QDX: Receiving great but needs more audio output gain in order to xmit for more than 250 milliseconds.
Hi Bill QDX isn't an SSB transmitter, there is no concept of audio gain or volume level affecting transmitter power output. It's all or nothing. You should always have all the volume settings on your

QDX: Receiving great but needs more audio output gain in order to xmit for more than 250 milliseconds.
Hey gang. Received my assembled QDX today...Thanks Mark ! OK, so the receiver is plenty hot...I'm playing on 40m first. When I attempt to transmit - either by the 'Tune' button or by actually calling

Re: #qdx No output power on any band, receive ok #qdx
Phil, OK, now I have a clearer picture of what you are telling us.? You have a low current draw on transmit, so the power amplifier MOSFETs (BS170 Q8, 9, 10, and 11) are not drawing power.? That

Re: Questions about adjusting QDX RF output by changing supply voltage
Hi Charles. Mine is built for 12 volts like yours. I usually run it down at 9 or 10 volts input while doing something like WSPR (1-2 watts out) and it doesn't get very hot. I run it at 12.0 or maybe

Re: #qdx No output power on any band, receive ok #qdx
Sorry, I misspoke, I was using a?Thruline Wattmeter, set up to measure forward power.? The QDX was connected to a dummy load through the wattmeter, and I was clicking on the 'tune' button in wsjtx
