I tried changing the 80/20 band swap advanced setting and it didn't fix the problem, but it changed the behavior a lot. It now runs longer before quitting.

That is puzzling and suggests that there is a another cause that is not understood.? In my case I also had an issue where my QMX was? transmitting on a different frequency than was displayed on VFO

wsjt-X audio level
The QMX has a low audio level. The PC is set to 100? but? a good signal is only just above 20 in WSJTX. is there any place to increase that ?
