New QMX+ build. Any tips? #building #QMXplus
My QMX¡Á kit arrived today, and I'm almost ready to go. Other than brewing a fresh pot of coffee, are there any tips or hints regarding this particular kit?

Re: Where is X101 on the QMX schematic?
Grant, both the 9 V version and the 12 V version are working well using at least 6.5 V in RX mode and a bit more, lets say 7 V, in TX mode. The only difference is the output. My recommendation is not

Re: QDX-M for 6M
Hi Chris! It's not the 6 meter season now, although this band was already opened in January. On QDX last year in a couple of months I conducted more than 100 QSO with 32 countries with a power of a

Re: Almost random swr spikes
Nico, when building a TX it's a good idea to use a dummy load for testing. You may use something like the QRP Labs dummy. It's not only a dummy. Connecting a DMM to a special connection you are able

QMX with FLRig
I use a QMX with FLDigi, but I have found FLRig doesn't show the output power or SWR. It's like some of the functions don't work when I select QMX. Not all the options show up like the sliders etc.

Re: QDX-M for 6M
Hi Nate thanks for the reply. After I posted my last settings for 6m I had a problem after fitting the pcb into a custom case. I lost nearly all rf power out and decided that this must be a dry joint

Re: QMX and SSB, will it work with MFSK?
Jerry, an excellent summary of how it will work! I was able to follow this better than some of the longer form discussion about SSB creation. Thanks for laying that out! -Nate N8BTR

Re: QDX RF filter sweep 20m
Please share which transformer winding you did. WTST? RWTST? Conventional? The sweep is pretty normal for a QDX HB. 17 and 20m share the same BPF, and compromises had to be made to fit it all in

Re: QMX and SSB, will it work with MFSK?
Yes Jerry is correct. It is true SSB, mathematically. Performance is very high, too. A QMX in SSB mode will be able to do anything a regular SSB transciever can do. 73 Hans

Re: QMX and SSB, will it work with MFSK?
Adam, The SSB modulation scheme that Hans is using generates true SSB. This SSB signal will potentially be cleaner than that from a typical transmitter using the traditional filter or phasing methods

Re: QMX 60-15M won't turn on... potential solution
I have found it helpful to solder fine wires, color-coded, to the various nodes and bring them out where they are easy to access.? Makes voltage readings easy and less chance of an "oops!" slip

Re: QMX +Backlight Rev 2 front on Rev 1 Mainboard
In my case (rev2 hardware) R306 of 33 ohm was missing. I replaced it with first a leaded 33 ohm resistor and replaced it later with an 100 ohm resistor because I found the backlight giving too much

Re: Almost random swr spikes
Building on this: I've noticed a possibly similar behavior with my QMX mid-band lately, though not through terminal but simply the built-in SWR "TUNE" function. I have a dummy load connected which in

QMX and SSB, will it work with MFSK?
There are some voices on the group saying that digital modes requiring multiple frequencies will work once the SSB is done. My assumption is that the QMX doesn't have a proper SSB modulator, it just

Thanks guys. So far so good. I now have been able to use putty and run the diagnostics. Screenshot attached. I did this using the jumper method. After removing the jumper and rebooting (by killing

Re: Where is X101 on the QMX schematic?
Hi Grant, There is a file with a test process for the two power supply boards in the QMX: /g/QRPLabs/files/QMX%20PSU%20test%20process.txt I would first remove the two power supply
