Re: QMX+
I would speculate that Hans will also implement CCW(Coherent CW) at some point to justify the internal GPS module. 73,Wei, AG6AQ

Re: Run 9v QMX with 12v - why not if power output is moderate?
Thanks Danny. You are right, I think 6w+ is okay when testing with a dummy load, but high swr with a real antenna can be the problem. What if though, I set the swr protection as low as 2? I'm not sure

Re: QMX+
You shouldn't have any buyer's remorse - the QMX is a great portable rig. QMX+ is not quite backpack portable and not really SOTA portable. ?So you now have both options. -- 73, Dan? NM3A

Thanks, Danny, but I hit F5 in Firefox to refresh the page and the old description is still there below the red text and photos. I did not even access that page until today but it sounds "safe" to

Re: Run 9v QMX with 12v - why not if power output is moderate?
You're risking the OA FETs doing this. They could blow anyway however if the antenna is at all out of tune then you are at even higher risk. Bear in mind a 3s lack is 12.6V fully charged you're nearly

Re: QMX+
My opinion: 3-5W is not enough. I would be looking for a minimum of 5W (CW) and probably more like 10W to compete with other smaller radios. -- 73, Norm/KC1BMD

Run 9v QMX with 12v - why not if power output is moderate?
I finished building my HB QMX kit last night. I measured the power output with my qrpguys digital power meter for each band as below. I've been running my LB QMX with 7-8v (2s1p 14500 li-ion cells)

The link to the operating manual on the QMX+ page gives me an error message. Not an immediate problem because I still have to build it, but I thought you should know. Ron KA3PSO

Use both and enjoy both. The OG QMX is a lot smaller so can be handy just to take everywhere or use it as an SDR receiver, digi-mode mini etc....
