Re: Something to look out for: possible cause of PA failure (QDX etc).
I've seen no interference from the fan when operating 10m.

Re: [QMX] Bug when handling "AG;" CAT command
AG or AG0 both work, i.e. AG54 or AG054. I don't know why the manual has the zero added after the AG, but I thought I was having issues, but tested and it's working either way. I tested using Flrig

Hi Peter, Does the fan cause any noticeable interference to the receiver since it's very close by? 73,Wei,AG6AQ

Re: Something to look out for: possible cause of PA failure (QDX etc).
Just as a brainstorm, given two facts: 1. BS170 is cheap 2. Electronic devices have a higher failure rate in their earlier life. I'm thinking maybe we can "bake" them first. we can build a circuit to

Re: Something to look out for: possible cause of PA failure (QDX etc).
Ah! I hadn't thought of copper! I DID use plenty of heat sink compound (I'm surprised the manual doesn't suggest this) and I also added an extra (steel) washer that will hopefully improve things a

I wondered that, too. The combination of overheating and mechanical stress. We'll never know! ;-)

Re: [QMX] Keying CW via CAT
Adam, once Hans adds support for the QCX CAT commands to send character strings using CW (at default speed) we'll be in business. We can use Wolfgang's CWTerm or write our own using pySerial. 73,

[QMX] Bug when handling "AG;" CAT command
Hi, I just discovered that in QMX (FW 17) "AG;" command inserts a 0x00 char in response: "AG0054\0;" I guess it's a bug. I'll work around it, but I'm reporting anyway.

Hi Gary, I don't think so. Did you read the thread at the link I posted? Wolfgang wrote: In the same thread Hans also describes how to retrieve the decoded CW, FWIW. 73, Mike KK7ER

I'm expecting the BPF may require a bit of trial and error. I bought extra capacitors in slightly different values, and have extra 28 awg magnet wire on hand... This way I can alter/swap the caps or

Re: Something to look out for: possible cause of PA failure (QDX etc).
Yes, that's the plan! I have a Rev 5 low band QDX I started with and use now. Blew the BS170s once, and replaced them with the L14 diode added then. I bought and built a HB version next with the L14
